Awesome view and table service. Best clam chowder in PDX. There is a small walk from the parking lot down to the restaurant that would be difficult for those with limited mobility. Super cool vibe, on the water in a floating restaurant -- the only of its kind in Portland! The food is fine- it'd be awesome anywhere else but with all the amazing options we have in Portland it's not my fav. Go for a drink and the awesome experience/view. Super kid friendly!!

Great view. Outdoor seating, but birds are a nuisance and we had to move to another table to get away from them. Beer on tap. 1/2 bay shrimp cocktail (happy hour menu ) was huge and fresh. Steamer clams tasty but needed to be washed better as some had sand grit. Service was excellent. Be prepared for a long walk down and up a steep ramp to get to and from the restaurant.

Chicken quesadillas were tasty 😋 & lots of chicken in it. I really enjoyed mine, but my friends burger was luke warm (not hot) as soon as it reached the table. The young waitress with blonde hair was very nice & polite! We went on a Sunday two weeks ago at 12 noon Cheers John

Really fresh food for being away from the coast, fantastic view. Occasional planes from the airport, but adds to the experience. The view of boats is very relaxing and you'll get a gentle wave on "the deck". Definitely a must waterfront dining experience. All the food was excellent flavor and very fresh. Hurry before the season ends.

This place was 🤩 amazing and very dog friendly AND accepting! From how the staff acted, they think of dogs as equal customers. I brought my dog and the server gave her a nice bucket of water. My dog kept laying in the isle and was a bit in the way but the servers acted like it wasn’t happening and said she was just fine. I felt safe and happy there and so well taken care of. The server even called me young lady in a kind way which was a nice compliment. Much needed after some events earlier that day. All seating allows for dogs whether inside (in the comfy tent) or on the deck. You can see the water from your seat and feel the restaurant moving under you like a ship but not enough to be sea sick. Such a cool experience and an amazing view of people on the Columbia River sailing. The Greek pasta salad was amazing. Clam chowder had a strange flavor that didn’t seem like clam chowder but still good in its own way and the clams were very fresh. Try the spicy jalapeño mango margarita! Very yum!

Great atmosphere on the water. Food is good; our group had a couple burgers, salmon tacos, and fish n chips. All were happy with there meals. Beer was cold, service was fantastic. You’ll almost forget you’re in Portland when you visit The Deck because it feels like paradise in a hot summer day.

The Deck is a bit like the Island Cafe's kissing cousin, situated a little further upriver along the Columbia in McCuddy's Marina off Marine Drive, and a little more obscure: it's very easy to overlook. Hell, I did for years, until this last weekend! It has its own set of advantages: closer to home (for us), less crowded. It's a little less photogenic, and a little rougher around the edges in some places, but still a wonderful spot to enjoy some casual lunch fare and cocktails on a warm, sunny afternoon! We ordered the Deck Burger for myself: a sort of French Dip/burger hybrid, complete with au jus; the Chapman Bleu for my wife: a cod fish sandwich boasting bleu cheese dressing and crumbles instead of tartar sauce; a Tokyo Tea for myself, and a Peaches and Tea for the lady. Both of us subbed out our included French Fries for one of the pasta salads on the appetizer menu: the Pesto Tortellini and the Sundried Tomato Penne, respectfully (the latter, without a doubt, is the *exact* same pasta you can buy from Gartner's deli on Killingsworth, FYI, and absolutely worth your money!). The Deck Burger seemed a little plain: could have used more caramelized onions and maybe some other accoutrement, IMO, but it was still pretty tasty, properly cooked, and the au jus a well-executed staple. My wife's Chapman Bleu, on the other hand, left me envious: she was utterly in love with it, savoring each and every bite: the bleu cheese complementing the deep-fried cod filet surprisingly well! Both of us would be hard-pressed to order anything else on the menu, upon a return visit. Cocktails were light and refreshing, and sizeable for the price. The Tokyo Tea, being basically a Long Island Iced Tea with Midori (I think?) was light and refreshing, and the Peaches and Tea was exactly as advertised: peach iced tea with a punch. Service was friendly and reasonably competent, even if most of the servers working seemed to be slightly-green high school aged kids working a summer job: no complaints about attentiveness or accuracy. The river views here are almost incomparable for any restaurant on the Columbia within city limits on either side, and a gentle wake from passing ships keeps things lively, at least for those resilient to sea-sickness (it's really not bad at all!). As I grow older, I've begun to realize that I am particularly partial to ships, docks, harbors, marinas...anything nautical by nature, as well as any restaurants that occupy said spaces or embrace said themes (Dad-mode fully engaged, I guess?!). Maybe I was a sailor in a previous life; certainly not this one, which is something I regret. Even so, despite my lack of sea-faring experience, on any sunny summer afternoon or evening, there's a decent chance you find me standing (well, sitting) on The Deck.

Neat Location. Staff was very friendly. Food was good and reasonably priced. I really liked sitting outside overlooking the Columbia on a sunny, mild day in June. My wife and I got there ~2:30 in the afternoon. I imagine this place gets packed later on. We split the Chapman Bleu sandwich with fries, we both felt it was money well spent.

First time eating at The Deck I truly enjoyed the kind service, atmosphere was amazing, Canadian geese, sparrows and more were present soaking in the sunset. Not to forget the sailboats and airplanes were a delight to watch.

We have been to this floating dock restaurant twice now. Both times we've sat in the sun and enjoyed the beautiful view. We shared the fried chicken, bacon club and the deck burger. Our dishes were good, not super amazing but we were very happy with them. We will definitely go back. We enjoy the atmosphere and the fun of floating on the water. Both times service has been good and it's just a really cool atmosphere.
