Wow. The food here is truly excellent. I went with friends after having tasted their food at a party. We were greeted warmly. We came for the Chicken Pozle. It was excellent. I also had a quesadilla. It was also very good. The chips are yummy. The tortillas are excellent. They had cucumber juice with peppermint. It was lovely. The friend I went with us a true foodie. He found this place and loves it. That says a lot because he is very picky about what he considers excellent.

Missing California/Mexico food. This hit the spot in a way I desperately needed after a week of birthday shenanigans. I was fortified and rejuvenated like only recipes of the ancestors can do. Thank you, chavos. You brought me back to life. And then I waddled home. Como decia mi Abue, panza llena, corazon feliz.

This place is soooooo good I almost don’t want to write a review. Fresh, authentic, soul warming. Each time I inhale my fresh made order that tantalizes my tastebuds, I tell myself that next time, I’ll savor it. And, it’s not just the tacos. Their horchata is top tier, the yucca fries perfectly crispy, the maduros are just the right amount of sweet, the guacamole is fresh and I’ve yet to have a margarita there that I didn’t enjoy.

The shrimp taco I ate here and the tinga de pollo I sampled were among the best tacos I have had in my life. Spiced to perfection. The tortillas were on a completely different level, thick but perfectly supple. Outstanding all around.

Saturday night on a whim and was super happy with the tacos. 1 chicken, 1 carnitas, 1 shrimp, and 1 barbacoa with chips and salsa (awesome), fried plantains and a margarita. So good. Fast service and cool scene. Highly recommend.
Parking was easy up the street. Was able to sit outside despite the rain.

Good tacos are hard to find in Portland. These are probably some of the best tacos I've had! I was sold on the homemade tortillas. The lengua and carnitas tacos were amazing. Will definitely be coming back and hope to eventually try all the options. 1000/10 highly recommend.

Great vibe just walking up to this place. Gave me a feeling of many of the local spots in Southern California. Menu was vast and had a lot of vegetarian options which I was impressed with.
Went with 4 of the meat tacos including the Barbacoa Jalisco which was probably my favorite. The home made chips with guac and salsa were also excellent to start off the meal. It does get a little expensive looking at 4+ tacos since they aren’t the largest but all in all great atmosphere on a warm day.

I came to try this place because I've been looking for tacos de Guisado since I moved here. The food is outstanding, the service is great and quick. I ordered the Guisado sampler so I could try the different guisados. I ordered el pablano, cochinita, bistec con papá, mole, and cachete. The flavor is on point the food reminded me of eating back home in mexico. Of course I can't forget the horchata which is vegan. Come out and try this gem you won't regret it.

This place is amazing! Definitely some of best tacos I’ve ever had in PDX. The quality of food here is amazing; it’s just dangerously tasty. Efficient bussing and very courteous help make the taco lines disappear here. Highly recommend if you even like tacos a little.

Taquería Los Puñales is a hidden gem. Fun atmosphere, the service is fast and friendly, and the tacos are incredible. Don’t be discouraged if you see a line when you walk up, know that it moves fast and you’ll be chowing down delicious tacos before you know it. Major bonus points earned because in addition to all the regular drinks they also had a cooler of ice cold non-alcoholic Corona Cervezas. First place I’d ever seen that sold these, and it was absolute perfection alongside their awesome crunchy tacos.
