Nel Centro

I love this place! Delicious cocktails and delectable food. I like to pop in during happy hour for a quick drink after the work day, or come in on a weekend to treat myself to a full dinner. The wild mushrooms are to die for, and I cannot recommend the rib eye steak enough. Cooked to perfection, to your taste, and covered with a savory, addicting herb butter. It's like you bought your taste buds a trip to heaven.

The server was very attentive, the food came out fresh/hot, the portion sizes we almost right. I had the polenta/egg/bacon dish and my companion had the quiche special. I preferred bites of his over mine but both were good. The quiche was a bit small and the polenta was a bit big but paired with an early lunch it would be fine. Because the polenta is made fresh, expect it to take longer to prepare than breakfast normally would.

I asked a stranger on the street where to go for a glass of wine and he recommended Nel Centro. I'm a happy hour girl and my timing was perfect and so was my experience here. I was lucky to get a seat at the bar, as this place was getting busy on a Thursday at 5pm. I was greeted right away and served promptly. The bartender was a STAR and answered all my questions while pouring cocktails for others. Sleek, modern, upscale decor and light and bright too. It has a beautiful patio with a fire pit and some cover from rain. They offered an array of upscale apps but I still chose the pizza (superb thin crust and I nearly ate it all... but best for sharing). Exceptional happy hour value. I don't make it to this part of downtown often but I'll be back because this place is amazing. Great time, good people, wonderful food.

Beautiful & delicious food! Our waiter was very accommodating even though we rushed him as we had to catch a play. We had the king salmon, lobster bisque, kids cheese pizza and kids butter pasta. All of them, including the kids food, was to die for! Dessert was also excellent! Highly recommend anyone to try, but give yourself enough time to enjoy!

This was our first visit to Nel Centro and I think the consensus of our group of 8 was 5 stars for the evening. Appetizers included calamari, mussels and grilled focaccia with olive oil. All perfectly flavored! Entrees ranged from a flavorful fish dish to an Osso Bucco (my choice) that literally fell off the bone. The mix drinks were excellent and the house red was my favorite, Montepulciano D'abruzzo. And don't skip dessert! My choice...a unique tiramisu...yummy. The venue itself is a little industrial, but well laid out with lots of seating, indoor private room, outdoor patio, and excellent staff!
