Applebee's Grill + Bar

Normally I like Applebees, today I just came because I am having a tire replaced next door and an hour to kill... I decided to have a drink and sit on the patio and a whisky sour sounded good. I am a simple well whisky person on a disability budget and asked if I could get the (crown ) whisky sour with well whisky , I was told it was Kentucky Deluxe and I have no problem with that. The waiter came back with my drink made and informed me they were out of well whisky so he made it with Makers Mark instead...well ok , I guess ...except when I got my tab it cost more than the Crown that was listed on the menu... I call that a bait and switch and not happy about having to pay more than I would have had I stuck with the Crown Royal when I asked for a downgrade not an upgrade! Still sitting here sipping on my more than I planned to pay drink and the waiter glaring at me for the tip I would have left him if he hadnt just made a choice for me I would not have made for myself! Update: the manager did come and speak to me after I spoke to a very nice oncoming shift waitress, and they understood why I questioned the issue and I am very pleased with thier response. I highly recommend Applebees for good food, and I am impressed at the managerial undertanding and response with even trivial issues.

My family and I recently gave the Portland Applebee's another try and I am so glad we did! The entire experience could not have been better if we were at our own kitchen table. Our server, DANNY, was AMAZING!!!! From the moment we were seated, she was most attentive to our every want and need. Our drinks were never empty and our orders were perfect! She was kind, personable, thorough, and quite humorous. DANNY is an employee that should be in a training position. So many other servers could benefit from her. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
