This is a very popular area for the locals especially around Ponce Inlet. Place is always crowded, with a lot of sights to look around the marina, wait for the sun to set, or feed the catfish, or to order at the bar while waiting for your table. There is a wide parking space, wheelchair accessible, it is kid friendly, it's a family gathering place.
Over the years we noticed that their menu has significantly change. I will personally rate the food 3 out of 5 stars, but will still come back!

On the way back to Atlanta home, we stopped by to have casual dinner. The environment is excellent, by the river with boats, the only thing is that it's hard to find parking. We ordered Conch Fritters, Conch Chowder, Clams, and Boondocks Fish Sandwich. Conch Fritters were crispy, conch meat was little pieces; clams were small but fresh. We were seated at outdoor picnic table which was perfect for us to enjoy views while waiting and eating. Sunset at the restaurant was a wonderful bonus experience.

We always make time for a visit to Boondocks when we travel to Daytona Beach. A long time favorite for us is the spicy Conch Soup. A new favorite after this visit is the Buffalo Shrimp !
An extra Huge shout-out beyond the food, was the customer service ! They were slammed and while we did have to wait nearly an hour, we received fantastic attentive service one we were seated and received our beverages nearly instantly and our appetizer and food in excellent timing after ordering. The staff worked as an amazing well gelled team and were wonderfully attentive until we received everything we needed and then let us enjoy our food, while always being nearby if we needed anything.
The atmosphere is cozy, with tables fairly close together, although balanced with open air and a fresh breeze blowing off the water.
One small challenge was their being so packed, I'm guessing for an extended period before we arrived, is they ran out of real silverware and my husband had to eat his fresh salad with a plastic fork and knife. But it was a minor thing and didn't hugely affect our overall delightful experience.
Been here a couple times on vacation. The staff are nice and attentive. The restaurant is fun and the cat fish are always amusing. Drinks are yummy. The food is delicious every time. Ice ordered a variety of things and have enjoyed all of them. Recently we tried the stuffed mushroom and it was one of the best things I've ever had. The cheesy garlic sauce was amazingly delicious and I wanted to just get a side of it to go home!

Just go a little off the beaten path once and you will make Boondocks a regular trip. Great food in an open air environment. Super friendly staff and the drinks are good too. Best blackened shrimp I've had.
Love this place. Great food and service all the time!! We enjoyed Blackened Fish, Grilled Fish and Spicy Shrimp, and Buffalo Shrimp. Great views always help!!
