Had a great breakfast this morning. Service was great, super-fast; I think we had our food in less than 10 minutes after sitting down. They have a good variety of omelets with fresh ingredients and melty cheese...yum! It's a cozy old-fashioned diner that makes their customers feel like family. We even saw one of the waitresses walk a customer with an ambulatory issue out to his car so she could help carry his to-go coffee. Great place!

My spouse and I are regulars here, and for good reason... The food is absolutely incredible and the people who work here are all really friendly. I normally hate omelettes, but I love omelettes at Cavis. The entire breakfast menu is extremely well executed. The lunch menu is also quite delicious. I'm personally a fan of their chicken salad croissant sandwich for a quick lunch. Like every diner in town, they serve coneys that are a pretty solid choice, and I find that they have one of the more distinct Coney sauces in the area. I've never been disappointed by the food here, and their prices are quite reasonable. Their waitstaff are all super friendly, and get to know their repeat customers pretty quickly. Plus, even when they're packed, they keep your coffee and water full. Cavis is well worth going off main street, whether you're a local or just driving through... It's a local institution. Diners just seem to be a thing in Port Huron, but if I had to pick just one local joint to take a visitor to, it would be Cavis. Hands down. Edited to add: Since new management has decided to gut everything good about this place and turn it into a tourist trap, I can't recommend it any more, but this review stays up as a testament to the best diner in town's legacy.

My husband and I ate breakfast here this morning. The Hungry Man with eggs over easy, extra crispy bacon, fresh potatoes w onion, delicious smoked ham, white toast, a side of biscuits and gravy. The best breakfast I have ever had in a restaurant setting. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service was amazing. Our waitress was attentive, kept my coffee warm. The music was at a perfect level, the atmosphere perfect. I’m glad we chose this place and will make it a regular stop when we return to Port Huron. Excellent to say the very least. I can’t wait to return! Thank you for an exceptional experience.

I actually love this adorable place, it is placed on the edge of the lake on one of Port Huron's main roads. With lots of other establishments nearby to shop at and work up an appetite. Their menus are nice, lots of great food to try and a nice drink choice. You can eat inside the place, or on the patios in the warmer seasons. It's like stepping back in history there! The decor is all old school and well taken care of. The staff are so cool, our waitress was really nice and helpful in recommendations and information to help narrow my choices. I highly recommend it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the temperature setting when I was there. It was freezing inside so we ate on the patio. But im sure is not like that all the time, I just got unlucky.

This place is a step back in time. While trendy quirky restaurants come and go, this place has been here since 1960. And most of the furniture and decor looks like it has been too! Good comfort food and friendly wait staff, and the man at the griddle is the grandson of the man who established the place all those years ago. Check it out.

I'm giving some benefit of the doubt for reputation. Food was extremely mediocre to blah. Low quality chicken, poor Greek food from an authentic standpoint (dressing was OK, spinach pie was terrible, my giagia would have scolded the cooks if she was with us). I don't care about decor/environment as long as it's clean but if you took everything into account lunch was... not great. I've heard breakfast is much better which I assume is true because they wouldn't be in business let alone have mostly positive reviews if not. The second star is for timeliness, food was out very quick although when you microwave it, it doesn't take long.
