Boyfriend and I got off a random exit on the way home from a trip, and found this gem! Friendly vibe in a cute plaza.
You can’t beat fresh, delicious seafood at this price. We had the lobster bisque, shrimp Caesar wrap (didn’t skimp on the shrimp - much appreciated!), and a grouper sandwich. Out all 3 dishes, I’d highly recommend at least trying the lobster bisque. It was creamy with a rich tomato base which we absolutely loved. All 3 dishes were great though! We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next road trip.
I know this a seafood place but they got some huge wings. If there were more flavors, it would be a go to spot for wings. They have a selection of fresh fish you can choose from to be made how you want. Service is great.
Do not assume because this is in a strip mall! The blackened scallops were cooked perfectly and had great flavor! The fried platter was great and was more than enough food! They will be closed July 30th thru August 21st 2023 for vacation.
Absolutely love Fish Shack. One of the best places for fresh local seafood in South Florida in a casual, diner-like atmosphere. This is a spot where the locals go. Don’t expect water front views or fine dining here, but DO expect top quality & freshness, along with daily updated specials for their catch of the day. The fried conch is their famous item. Not on the menu: they gave me a fried conch burger by request!! It was amazing, obviously.
We’re not in Pompano Beach enough, yet.
But when we are here, we always make a point to eat at the Fish Shack in Lighthouse Point. Once again, they exceeded our expectation for exceptional service and food. Their lobster bisque is second to none, and the oysters were fresh and flavorful.
Here’s a visual of awesomeness.
Fantastic service, great food, the tuna burger appeared to be tuna bites pressed into a patty with filler instead of a single cut of tuna. I asked for seared, so it’s unusual the waitress didn’t point that out. It still tasted good and was, in fact, seared; but wasn’t what I was expecting. Seeing filler was a bit of a let down.
The fried oysters aren’t bad, but definitely not the best, and the calamari came out a bit cold, which made them tougher and were oilier than can be justified.
Overall, though, the service made up for the standard-quality food. We’ll probably try again but order different plates for sure.
I absolutely loved stumbling upon this gem that helped reignite my love for fresh fish… This cozy little diner with excellent service and a staff that treats customers like family is certainly worth the visit! I’ll be back the next time I’m in the area without a doubt. 🎣
Update: I’m back… and once again, the Fish Shack never disappoints! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mike has this all figured out. Fresh fish, excellent kitchen service, sweet staff, and the plates come out hot and delicious. Jackie is always happy and smiling, Catherine is working hard somewhere, and we always get to see Brandy serving us beers. Very excited to live down the street from one of the best fresh fish restaurants in south Florida. Do yourself a favor and stop by for lunch or dinner, open Tuesday-Saturday

We came here for lunch to get some seafood! The food was fresh and tasty. They oysters were amazing! Prices were fair and the service was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend you visit. You won't be disappointed!
