The first time we went to The Vanilla Bean Cafe was a couple of years ago. We stopped here to grab some dinner while we were out for a cruise in the Camaro.
There were lots of motorcycles, which was not surprising given the area is nice to drive/ride through.
Anyway, the place has a relaxed atmosphere. There are many great food options on the menu. I went with the Steak Dinner and the Mrs. had a Steak Caesars Salad. They use just the right amount of dressing on it. We both hate when places drown the salads in too much dressing.
I had a locally made Root Beer soda and the wife had a glass of wine and a cup of Ginger Lemonade.
Both of our meals were very good. They were from the Specials board.
We split a Blueberry Cheesecake for dessert. I had a coffee, and she enjoyed a hot chocolate with raspberry flavor.
We returned here today (10/22/2023) and I tried the Pot Pie special. It was good, but not very pie like. It was more of a pot pie stew, and a block of bread that was essential pie crust. It came with a Caesar Salad.
The wife enjoyed a bowl of chili. Once again, everything was good.
The staff was great. They seemed young, but very enthusiastic in doing their jobs. I found them to be friendly, engaging, and helpful. This seems to be consistent from what I have seen when we come here.
Great cafe in Pomfret CT. It's a favorite of many yuppy motorcycle riders. You can usually find many different bikes here. Lots of vintage bikes too. The food is great and the coffee is delicious as well. We have been here several times and we always love it.
food is always fresh and tasty. employees go above and beyond to accommodate any requests.
Such a cool vibe and atmosphere. Had a Veggie bowl of Chilli and coffee. Place was super busy. I will visit again for sure.
This is a weekend spot that you just have to try. The atmosphere is cozy get away and relax. They have their regular menu as well as a specials section that is delectable. I would say jump with both feet in and try what is available.
The pancakes are filling and fluffy, any eggs breakfast is filling also. I am grateful that they balance the meal with fruit which refreshes the palate and keeps the from getting too heavy.
Went for breakfast on the weekend and everything was perfect. Food was fresh and tasty and plentiful. Always a good atmosphere and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It's been one of my faves since I first visited 3 years ago.
Food is just ok. Your going there for hang out aspect.
Every year we drive our vintage Fiat to the vanilla bean for an afternoon lunch seems like a lot of people are thinking like us. The place was packed. The service was great. The food was great and the weather was outstanding a great fall trip for anyone visiting the area.
Sandwiches and burgers were very good. We didn't try the specialty coffee drinks or pastries, but all looked tasty. The decorations are really eclectic and make it an interesting place to look around. We sat by the fire, which was kind of nice after picking up our Christmas tree. There was plenty of out door seating. I wish the seating was a little cozier for a little bit of a coffee house feel.
A great place to stop on a trip with a LOT of motorcycles around. The coffee is great (not the regular “American”). I ordered the fich cake Benedict and was so happy that they asked how I want the egg! A real pro!
