Review Springfield Grille - Poland

Sunday lunch. No wait. Service was very friendly and professional. The food was awesome. Served as ordered. The presentation was very nice and the taste was excellent. The bread is absolutely tops. A wonderful experience.

I am here on travel. I have eaten here everyday because of it’s local fair. The filet pictured is on the menu. The fried artichoke is to die for. They are right off Boardman Poland road across from the Best Western. There are so many chain restaurants in this area right on Boardman Poland rd but I beg you to try this place. The food is off the charts and the staff is extremely efficient and friendly. If you are local…forget the chains and get thee to the grille. You will not be disappointed. Ask for JT for the best martinis ever!

Classy vibe. Well-stocked bar. Attentive bar-tender. Enjoyed a Walnut Old Fashioned with a Woodford bourbon and luxardo cherries. Appetizer was a Spinach Artichoke dip that is easily sharable. Pot Roast for dinner was delicious and also was a large portion.

I do not think I have had a bad meal here yet. The fall specials are spectacular, drinks and food. Had the bourbon banana's foster (banana old fashioned) We got the fried artichokes for our appetizer (possibly the best artichoke dish I've ever had) I got the Lobster Ala Vodka and my wife got the seasonal special pumpkin ravioli and chicken. The atmosphere in the fall is absolutely perfect with a warm cozy feeling.

Amazing service, great food, and an upscale but relaxed atmosphere. I really appreciated that they remembered us from a previous visit a few months back. They make you feel like you're part of their family. Wednesday night crab legs special was a hit. Wasn't a fan of the breadsticks, their house rolls are much better. Also, the house dressing needs a tweak, but those things aside, definitely worth the drive!

We had a party of 10. Everyone's food was delicious!!! Our waitress was awesome, very cozy and beautiful restaurant!! Highly recommended!!

Don't let the white tablecloths fool you, the prices aren't that bad. Our service was average, but wow the food tasted amazing. Every item on every one of our party's orders was surprisingly delicious! An institution, my wife last went almost 30 years ago, and we can't wait to go again.

One of our favorite restaurants! Great food and wonderful service!

I travel ALOT for work and unfortunately do not always find a decent place to eat. I was exhausted when I got to the the Grille, sat at the bar, was greeted immediately by one server/bartender (didn't catch her name then she left for the day) . Then Jessica came over, greeted me and shared a couple of her favorites on the menu. I still could not decide what to order. Jessica was so kind and patient with me. I wound up ordering basically a twist off of a few items already on the menu. I got a blackened piece of chicken, their incredible chipotle blue sauce and green beans. INCREDIBLE! Absolutely delicious! One of the best, simply prepared meals I've ever had! THAT SAUCE...bottle and sell that magical stuff :) Amazing service, fantastic food! I wish I was closer, I would eat there all the time! Thank you team Springfield Grille!!!

An absolutely amazing experience! Both service and food were top notch. Wide variety of food to choose from, as well as a diverse cocktail menu. The layout and decor of the restaurant are also very cool. A little pricey but it is definitely worth it. Can’t wait to come back!

Went here for my birthday. The food is just incredible every time we come here. The staff and service are equally as amazing. Worth every dime!

We had a wonderful experience here. The food was wonderful and the service was good. Our server was a little new I think but she tried hard. We will definitely be back again. This has become a favorite of mine.

This place is supurb. Book a ticket to flavor town and don't look back. The delightful staff with make you feel right at home and the presentation on the plates compares to 5 star/white glove dining, but no jacket or tie needed here. Pull up a seat and enjoy.

We go here a lot because it is usually tops in service and food. Last time I ordered the fish special. Tasted like it was pre-cooked and was very dry. My friend from Florida had pot roast; he said it was ok, but not great. He only ate half of it.

This has been our family favorite for years when we lived in Boardman/Poland. Many business dinners were held here. Friends, family, special events. All 3 of my daughters, this was the first restaurant they were brought to. Too little to eat, but this was the first stop. We don’t live here anymore, but when we come visit or pass through, without exception, regardless of plans, we always make it a point to stop and eat. Having traveled throughout the country, you would be hard pressed to find the quality and service presented here for the price point offered. This is my favorite place. A place of peace and relaxation.

Under new management, Springfield Grille has brought back unique and delicious specials every night. The chefs are creative and brilliant when it comes to playing with flavor - everything is delicious. The addition of the raw bar every Thursday makes Springfield Grille even better!

Excellent! Been there several times. Took Mom yesterday, 3/22,for her 90th birthday. The server, Randy, was attentive without hovering. The food was hot and good as usual. Randy was very knowledgeable about the menu and patient with Mom. The turtle soup is a must order. I pre ordered a birthday cake and Randy and another server brougt it with candles to sing Happy Birthday. The coffee was sso so. Bill Montgomery

Very good. I had diablo Mac which was delicious. The jalapeño was a whole jalapeño so the pasta itself wasn't spicy. My husband had the special balsamic thyme duck and he said the duck was cooked very well and the zucchini and eggplant was cooked well. His only complaint was the salt was just a little salty and the duck could've used just a little more seasoning. But overall very good. Their peanut butter or was excellent!

A Good Youngstown Choice. I come here for visits not expecting much, but this place was good on all fronts...food, drink, and atmosphere. Sure, it's pricey by local standards, but the food and beer holds up to my neighborhood haunt, and is priced reasonably in comparison. The staff also deserve a nice mention except for two quibbles...our food seemed to take a while (delivered hot and fresh, so kitchen's issue; and our app came out fast enough and kept us busy and munching for most of the wait), and the hostess got a little snotty with us for not having a reservation, even though they were able to seat us immediately. HOWEVER, an attentive server, front manager, and GM (? Stopped by briefly to make sure we were happy) were enough to make up for those quibbles. Rose's Luxury it is not (but it also doesn't have a 5-hour wait on a Friday), but a very solid option in the grand scheme of Youngstown-area dining.

Seriously ?. People really write good reviews about this food ? I am not trying to hurt this restaurant, but seriously this place is the single worst food per dollar restaurant I have ever eaten at. Their seafood is just old and awful. People really pay this price when you could go to Cure, Toast, Grit and Grace, Sienna, I'll Pizziola, San Lorenzo and many more for about the same price. If you truly know food you will not like this place. I have eaten here about 10 times because of friends. Worst upscale restaurant ever. Food is heated up and not fresh. I only write positive reviews but this place is truly this awful. !!!!!!

Great place for a special night out. My wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary here every year...it's a special treat and we both look forward to it! Try the hazelnut chicken and you will not be sorry. Have always had friendly service and the food is consistent and delicious. Always save room for dessert...the creme brûlée is a great way to top off a great meal!

A Favorite!. We eat out often and have picked our top two favorite restaurants...Springfield Grille being one of them! The décor is rustic and fancy with animal heads, a fireplace and lots of dark wood with white linen tablecloths and warm lights. The food is superb! You get several different types of rolls, all warm with a whipped butter. Their house and Caesar salads are delicious and not your typical bagged lettuce in a bowl. The Thai Calamari is the BEST calamari we've ever had anywhere (and believe me we've tried calamari lots of places!). The entrees are all good, but it's really the rest of the meal that keeps us coming back. The Peanut Butter Bliss dessert is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I have tried replicating it at home it's so good! The service is okay...at times great, at times it needs some help. However, the food is so good we don't care (which is rare for us). Try it out! Reservations are highly recommended!

Service is BAD. Great food when you can get the attention of the staff. I have tried to get a good (not) great meal here at least four times in the last two months and the staff is just ignorant. Great food if you can handle bad attitudes. Will not go back!

The Grille is always good unless you order a steak. They just can't seem to get their steaks right. Everything else is always perfect.

I eat here regularly. The food is generallygood to outstanding. Prices fair, especially specials and Sunday brunch. Service varies from excellent to "is anyone working here?" Never had trouble being seated. Desserts are pretty good and vary daily. Peanut butter bliss and buckeye cake outstanding, portions are shareable.

Consistently average to poor service but good food. Not snobby about service but have to ask for most things.

Great Steak- Not so Great Service. My mother and stepfather treated my boyfriend and I to a trip here for his birthday. It was a relatively quiet night (Halloween) in the dining room (I love the decor btw) and as far as I could see we were only one of three tables our waitress had to take care of and frankly I felt neglected. I have served the whole spectrum of restuarants so I know what is involved in the job and she seemed to be taking a nap. It took her forever to come back with our drinks and then she left again before she took our orders. She simply dropped off our food and didn't come back to check on us until it was time to clear dirty plates. The food was great. No complaints there. And I understand that for most people a trip to the SG is a relaxing time but it should not have taken 2 hrs from seating to leaving.

Very Impressed. This was our first time here and we were very impressed. The atmosphere was great, there was no wait on a Friday night for a party of 2, and the food was outstanding. I had the Jerk Mahi Mahi with Watermelon Pico de Gallo. It was spicy and sweet and fabulous. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass and it did not disappoint. The dessert tray looked scrumptious. We will definitely be going back.

Great all around. Wife and I were in the area for a short over-nite weekend. Saturday nite without reservations and we had only a 40 minute wait. Quite acceptable. We had two cocktails each for what one glass of wine each would have cost. The meal was just excellent. The crab cake was wonderful. The six-ounce filet terrific and perfectly done to a medium rare. Service was prompt and professional. Above all, the atmosphere was relaxed with a "populated" sound background that meant the two of us could have conversation at a normal level and enjoy it. The same meal in Columbus would have been $30 more. For us that would be reason enough to go back, but the food is the real star here and we would definitely return for it.

This is a great place to dine -one of the best in town.

Absolutely amazing! The waitress (Sarah) was wonderful and laid back on top of knowledgeable and friendly. The food was great. Smashed potato was perfectly seasoned and buttery. Asparagus was perfect and steaks were not only nice size and tasty but the chef had them cooked so well. No better word than perfect for every aspect of our meal and experience. - so pleased :)

I really liked this place.. There were 4 of us at 6:00pm on a Sunday night with a 20-Minute wait. It gave us a chance to try some signature drinks, I had the pineapple upside down Martini. YUM!! We were seated before I was finished with my Martini. Appetizers first Husband had stuffed Hungarian waxed peppers (average) Friends had seafood nachos (looked to rich for me). I had candied date on a ricotta potato cake. This was not on the regular menu but a special menu that they had. We drove an hour and a half from Pittsburgh Just to meet up with friends we do not get to see that often. If I knew this would be on the menu next time I went here I would drive an hour and a half just for this appetizer. Everyone loved their salad. Husband had the Caesar and there was an option on the special menu to switch out the salad for a specialty salad it had pistachios, cucumber noodles blue cheese and some wonderful mango dressing. Definitely worth the $2.00 to upgrade. Entries were admired by all I had a Black and Blue strip with side of garlic orzo. Nothing disappointed. If your only complaint is the seating is not fair, maybe you should make a reservation like you should for all fine restaurants.

Reservations are not required, but recommended at this restaurant. Call ahead seating is not offered as is stated on other reviews. The food is delicious, my family and I have eaten there many times. The reviews which include seating critiques may have caught the staff on an off night, or should attempt to hostess for an evening. Many reviews include the feeling of not being rushed, well that's why others had to wait. Even the best host is not expecting anyone to sit as many hours as some care to for dinner. Would go back many times, if for nothing else to be pleasant to the hosts who have to be deal with being yelled at too frequently when, aside from kicking paying customers out of their booths, have no control over wait times.

Fried Semolina. This is actually deep fried fettuccine alfredo served with marinara sauce. Outstanding

-----04 Jan, 2011-----

Mrs. BZ. This is by far one of Youngstown's best restaurants, hands down. I was reading another review about how the wait was long and another foursome was seated first. They do take reservations and also call ahead seating. On a Friday or Saturday I would always recommend this to anyone. I did not think it was fair to rate the restaurant on a time frame to be seated. Make a reservation or call ahead...plain and simple. I love this restaurant for their fresh seafood, amazing appetizers and extensive wine list. I had my first Spanish wine here and fell in love! I also love the fact that if you have visited them more than twice; on most counts will remember and even know your name! The staff is super friendly and quick to accommodate!

Seating policy. Went to SG tonite for dinner. Hostess stated it would be a 40 min wait not that long on a friday night BUT. After about 50 mins we noticed that they seated a party of four ahead of us who had come at least 30 mins after us. Then a party of five that also had arrived well after us. I had been talking to a older fella who was with a large group of men and he even noticed that too. Just then the hostess called out his partys name. These fellas had come a good 30-45 mins after us. He argues with the hostess that several of us had been waiting much longer then they had. She then stated they seat larger parties first. So what their policy is that smaller parties no matter howLONG they wait are bypassed for the bigger checks. I have no three strike policy, bad service, bad food once and done. WE WONT BE BACK

Wonderful experience. My wife and I recently ate here for our valentines day dinner. It was fantastic and i would recommend it to anyone and I will definately be returning.

The cowboy steak was awesome and my wife loved the filet oscar.

I liked it. This was right next to the hotel so me and some co-workers checked it out one night. Seemed like steak was the way to go and the Rib Eye (Pittsburgh style) and scalloped potatoes were dead on. The one nice surprise was that they had Orange Roughy on the menu...roughy in Ohio?!?! You just don't see that often (and not enough). I will be back to give it a go in the coming weeks. The only negative was that the menu was a tad small with not a lot of variety. Even worse, the wine list was weak. However, they seem to be focusing on making what's listed right. If this is the case they are succeeding, at least in my small sampling. It was a nice meal across the board with good service. On a side note.. Our waitress turned me on to an Eliot Ness lager from Great Lakes Brewing Co in Cleveland that was pretty good. I now have a treasure to hunt down at the local BevMo at home in Sun Diego

FINE DINNING. Our family has dined at the Springfield Grill on several occasions and each time had an enjoyable meal. The service is prompt and the ambiance is GREAT. All the steaks we've had have been cooked to order and delicious. Awhile ago, they had crawdads as an appetizer which were really good. I don't see them on the menu now and that not a good thing.
