On a random trip I found this gem up on the Eastern shore just as you cross over into Maryland give or take 5 miles. Don's was an immediate pleasure to walk into we were seated the wait staff was helpful knowledgeable and very friendly. Everyone observed the new precautions having to do with the pandemic in evidence was the use of PPE.
All of the tables around us including the large tables of numbers over 5 to 6 per table from time orders were taken back to the time that food arrived was a reasonable amount of wait time. Wait staff was prompt and ready with drinks appetizers and any other table side necessities as well as the removal of dirty dishes.
Well seated I noted that you can order ahead and pick up but that they do not deliver. Additional to this there is a dessert area for takeout as well as a spirits area to take ABC off site.
Bathrooms were well stocked clean no noticeable traces of dirt and or odors and clearly posted signs for handling hand washing for staff and also for customers.
Our food came within a reasonable amount of time was very delicious and cooked as we had ordered. When part of our party wanted additional sauces and substitutions the restaurant staff had no problem accommodating.
After our mule and while we were gathering up our items the wait staff had through the course of the meal discovered for short talk that we were traveling and had wished us as well as other wait staff had wished us a safe travel and had suggested additional sites to see along our destination path.
Anyone in the area and for those traveling through I highly suggest Don's restaurant.
It is clean and quiet, server was respectful and efficient, polite and helpful, cheerful too, they sell lottery tickets too, a large bar area and TV, the have deserts as well...
We ordered the flounder it was two large slices on one bun, I must say it was great and the tarter sauce I love to have that recipe and the brands they use...the best ever and I am a pascaterian... so I've had a lot of different tarter this is Home made..
Anyway we had a nice quiet corner to ourselves and we were uninterrupted so we could chat and our waitress was watchful to serve us perfectly...
We will return!!!
Nothing fancy or frilly here, and that is just what I was looking for after a cold morning of apple picking. The food was really good but a little skimpy on the fried oysters in the sandwich (5 small oysters). The sweet potato fries with cinnamon and sugar were a nice treat and the cream of crab was delicious. I recommend getting an orange crush but feel free to swap the Sierra Mist for soda water - that's what I did and it was still pretty sweet.
Don's very family friendly quick polite service great home style cooking...better than anything I know of from Virginia to Salisbury
Loved the server here. Very attentive and responsive. Our first time here. Food was great as well. We had a great time. You will not be disappointed.
Food was great, we just moved to the area and this is the first place we have been that had good customer service.
Crab soup and coconut shrimp were very good. Great service and atmosphere.
