Ever since Rino opened Mediterraneo's we have celebrated baptisms, communions, confirmations, 50th anniversaries, regular dining, and very soon a 90th birthday party. Owner and chef, Rino has always treated us very special with a great smile and sparkle in his eye and his food is top notch generous and delicious Italian. The ambiance is bright and cheery and so is the staff.

Still thinking about the dinner we had at Mediterraneo. Look at these beautiful pictures! Great service, food, and ambiance. I went with a large group and we basically ordered every appetizer. Cherry Pepper Basket with Drizzled Honey (amazing), Octopus Agro Dolce, Pork Ribs, Burrata caprese with prosciutto, Stuffed Artichoke (must have), Polenta Fries, Baked Clams. For dinner, I had chicken parmigiana with penne vodka. Delish! Can't wait to go back and try everything else.

The food was delicious! Their small meeting room was set up nicely to accommodate our group. There were enough appetizers, wine and other drinks to go around. There were great options for the main course, which were cooked to our specification. And the desserts were scrumptious! Definitely a hidden gem in Pleasantville.

- Hand made, fresh squeezed Cosmos!! Our first visit Feb 20, 2021 - ( Oops we forgot to make a reservation but we got lucky )- Good enough to compete with Bobby Flay or Iron Chef! Nice atmosphere - reasonable prices - Looking forward to the next meal ( The following day we showed up but closed on Sunday) my pics will not load... hmm

Food was great. Staff was even more great! Four of us showed up and the restaurant was closed for a private event. But the manager served us anyway and made us feel like special guests! And they were busy with around 50 people in a graduation party! We sat outside under the beautiful umbrellas and were treated like royalty! Such a joyful experience! Thank you!

Comfortable environment, great staff, owner was welcoming and our dining experience was excellent. The food was delicious, served without rush with timing that was on point between courses. I would and will recommend to my friends and anyone who enjoys great cuisine in a relaxed setting.

Went back for the first time in several years and it seems better than ever. Well-above average Italian, friendly service, interesting menu (not the same old dishes you'd find everywhere else), casual but nice atmosphere. I brought my kids this time and they liked it a lot too (and no burgers on the menu!). Definitely going back more often.

Not sure about some of the previous reviews, this place has always been great. The food is phenomenal, much better than other local places. If you want "cheap" food ("more bang for your buck"), go to a pizzeria. If you want authentic and delicious dishes, eat here. The food does cost a bit, but it's fresh and worth it.

Our family, friends and associates have enjoyed great food and high quality service at Il Mediterraneo for several years. We have always been very pleased each time we have dined there. We never hesitate to recommend Il Mediterraneo whenever asked to name fine restaurants in Pleasantville. Have dined there on many occasions over the last several years and are never less than fully satisfied.

Special sales appetizer. Chopped mixed greens, sliced almonds, strawberries & blue cheese=excellent. 1 1/2 lb Steamed lobster drawn butter=very good. Came with french fries=over salted & chopped bok choy w/sesame oil & garlic(?)=very good. Other main dish was homemade al dente pasta with shrimp=8 small, with chopped veggies in butter cream sauce=heavy, tasty but too rich for more than a few pieces... Will hopefully go back to try their veal or pork, which looked very good on other diners table. Very nice staff, relaxing decor.
