Church's Texas Chicken

Worst Church's chicken I've ever had. I generally like Church's fried chicken, I've eaten it for years. This particular Church's is in a Shell gas station. That may be why is was not so good, as usual. Yesterday, I stopped to pickup chicken to go, as I was near home. The taste of the chicken was bland, and the batter/crust on the chicken had even less flavor... No more gas station food for me.

Sorry to say...this chicken (4 breasts, M&C, mash & gravy, 4 bombers. Was the worst Church's I ever had. That's the only mistake they made ever. Since 1984. Very dry breasts. Tough. Chewy coating-rock hard in some places. Color was "flour-white". One dried-up chicken breast dinner in 38 years, ain't bad. I'll try again later!

First time at this location Disappointed with the chicken I ordered. The chicken looked and smelled good but it was dry and a little over cooked...too much batter/skin and not enough meat. If you go onto their website they have coupon specials. I got 5 pieces, 2 sides(mash potatoes, fresh mac & cheese) and 2 biscuits for $6 which is a pretty good deal. I’d usually eat 2-3 pieces the same day and save the rest for lunch the next day. I’m used to Church’s having big, juicy chicken but I ended up eating 4 pieces because the chicken was so skimpy 3 out of the 4 I ate barely had any meat! Ended up peeling off all the extra crispy skin! The sides were good the biscuits could have been better. The drive thru service was good got me in & out pretty fast too. But the chicken which is supposed to be the “Star” of the meal was a “Big fail!”

Chicken was just ok. Not much flavor. Tasted as if it wasn't salted. Also, fountain drinks didn't have the right mix of syrup & carbonation. I ordered a Coke & what I received looked & tasted like brown seltzer water. I was allowed to get another drink & it took me a few tries to find a drink that didn't taste like they were trying to conserve their syrup until the next shipment arrived. (I went through the drive-thru & had to come inside to deal with the tasteless Coke.) I would've given them 2 stars but the French fries were fresh & good & I prefer doctoring on under-seasoned as opposed to dealing with over-seasoned chicken.
