Good breakfast. Service was attentive but the kitchen a bit slow in light of how few folks were there when I arrived.
That being said, John's is worth a stop because the meal was very good.

John's cafe is a small home cooking restaurant in Plano. They serve breakfast and lunch only. Their menu is filled with all kinds of home cooking item and they have a few burgers as well. I ordered the classic cheese burger with bacon. They charged $1.10 extra for the bacon which is a bit steep. I ordered my burger to be medium rare since most places never nail the temperature any way and overcook the burgers. The place was freezing. Not sure why they liked their temperature to be so low. The wait was maybe 10 minutes. The burger looked pretty good. It was cooked to medium well. So much for cooking to order. It was a decent burger. The bacon was crisp and flavorful. The burger was moist and had a good meat taste. I suspect they use fresh ground beef for their burgers. Condiments were one the side so I could dress the burger to my liking. I ordered the build your own omelet with bacon, sausage, mushroom, onion, and cheddar cheese. It was pretty good. I would've preferred more cheese on the inside of the omelet, not only on top, but the consistency of it was still good. Kind service. Their salsa they brought with my meal was quite flavorful as well.
EXCELLENT BREAKFAST!
stopped in with a group and were served immediately despite a crowd. More complicated orders took a little longer (but not much longer) The quality and flavor of the food was very good, making this little place a sort of hidden gem in plain sight. We very much enjoyed our breakfasts here, as did the many others coming and going. I'd eat here regularly if I didn't live a state away.
Well worth a stop!

Really good "hole-in-the-wall" family owned place. Very warm and cozy atmosphere, great service and the food was good! Can't wait to go back and try the pancakes 😋.
Best Texas size breakfast I’ve ever had. I would add a photo but I got carried away and now it’s all gone. So come try it for yourself.
