Wonderful southern food. Great portions. Served piping hot! Reasonably priced. Easily the best gumbo in central New Jersey. Fantastic shrimp and grits. Non-alcoholic drinks available. Reasonable parking, curbside as well as parking lot across the street. Eat in or take out available. Can't wait to go back!

Great food, well prepared and always fresh. Shrimp & grits looks and smells so good you can’t pause long enough to capture it for Yelp or Instagram! Centrally located with great parking and access.
... and don’t get me started on the DESERTS! Red Velvet Cake; Chocolate Cake.... the list goes on!

My sister and enjoyed a wonderful meal, great food,pleasant staff and family like ambience. Truth the seafood gumbo was outstanding, reminiscent of my late mother's preparation and that is high praise indeed. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will be returning🤗

I'm a little disappointed, I've order lunch here 3x in the last 3months. First, they never have corn bread and I get put on a "special" list for the next time I order to receive an extra slice. I'm up to 3extra slices right now! I order the chicken & shrimp gumbo which is a hit or miss with whoever cooks it, sometime it's varys with spices-yesterday overload on old bay sprinkled on top, and different vegetable-yesterday a first with okra. Lets not venture down the time management, 2/3 time the food wasnt available until late afternoon despit being open for lunch hours. I want to love this place but it's hard....

One of my favorite places to eat in Plainfield! I've been here more than a dozen times, and I've never had a bad experience with the food. I recommend everything on the menu for gumbo and soul food lovers!

We went to the restaurant for dinner and was very disappointed. The food was very average and they were out of several items. I will never visit this place again.
