This was my second visit to Shanghai Garden and will be my last.
My first experience I was good - not great, I ordered the Pineapple Chicken and it was phenomenal, my only concern was that the owner/manager was busy and slightly rude.
My second trip was less successful than the first. I once again ordered the Pineapple Chicken, this time it was substantially below average. It was not nearly as flavorful as the first time. More than that the owner/manager once again was more than slightly rude. When on a business lunch and trying to split the bill he refused!?
I would not recommend this establishment, and will not be going back.

My family and I love this place! We had no idea about it until we found it on Google and gave it a try. We are so happy we found our new favorite Chinese food place so close to home. The service is always great and the food is hot, fresh, and delicious always! They have a variety of milk, Thai and other teas with Boba or Jellies if you like as well as other drinks. The flavors and variety of foods and drinks are amazing! There are a couple large, round tables for bigger groups and a nice patio outside for dining as well if you enjoy that.
The combo egg food young is one of my favorites here. A large egg food young patty with a gravy full of large veggies and meats. It is not like any egg food young I have had in the past and it is now my all-time favorite version of it!
Soo many delicious foods...you will just have to go try some yourself!
To-go orders are neatly packaged and easy to carry out making this a great place to stop after work to take home to enjoy too!

9/26/2017 UPDATE:
So I have to agree with Cynthia True's review. The original owners packed up and went back to China with their fortunes they earned while in America running this restaurant. Unfortunately, all of the authentic cooking went with them. None of the dishes are the same. Bland, flavorless and overpriced now. I don't think a small hidden place like this will survive. I haven't been back in months and I use to go there at least once a week. Sad days....

This place is a GEM of a place. Best Chinese food you will have anywhere! And cheap too! Where can you get a whole plate of homemade pan fried dumplings for $6.00?
I could come here and just eat the appetizers. Everything is good and the service is good. The place is full of patrons who look like they know what good Chinese food should be, so I take my cue from that. If the Asian community comes to patronize this place, so will I.
I've been eating here since they opened their doors and there is not a Chinese restaurant that can come close to authentic Chinese food anywhere in this area.
You will love this place if you want authentic Chinese food.

Went there for lunch with my son. I had a horrible experience. I ordered the Ma Po Tofu from the lunch menu. The sauce was so salty, my tongue was numbed by it. When I told the waiter about, he simply said it was probably the sauce that they used and that I'm not used to it. I am Chinese myself... I've never tasted anything like that before. The waiter did not try to offer me something else or have the meal redone ( I didn't have more than 2 bites).

Meh. The food was mediocre, especially given the price point. The waiter was fine, perhaps a little curt. The rice was not included with the entree and had to be ordered separately. The sesame chicken just felt empty, like I was eating candy-coated chicken. There was just no substance to the sauce or breading. We also ordered vegetable chicken, and it was fine. No complaints, but nothing to brag about either.

Changed hands 9 months to a year ago. Wonderfully authentic deeply flavored Chinese meals including multiple lamb and pork specialties are no longer available. Sauces are now fairly unflavorful and unmemorable. Even Mushu is mostly egg. An elegant spicy chicken dish is now made of chicken wings chopped in thirds and coated in the sauce. My review from 1 to 2 years ago no longer holds. They are interested in cheap fast food and they make it. I ate with my daughters last night and none of us were impressed with any of it. I threw the leftovers away today.
Wheelchair accessible. Handicapped parking close.

So I discovered this place about six months ago. I had Kung Bao Shrimp and I loved it! I've been there a couple times and had that dish every time. Now: dinner caption at the bottom of the menu says that it comes with rice and brown and black options are extra. Anyhow, they charge you for regular rice too. It's a very small bowl. No big problem, but funny.
So, the server guy is usually pretty rude. No issue with that, again, he's Chinese so ok, used to live there, know it's not personal. But yesterday he messed up my order. I know I did not order chicken because I've been vegetarian for a long time. He looked like he doubted that it was a mistake on his part but he got me a new dish and kinda casually threw the plate on my table.
Then, as usual, he brought me the check before I asked, like a hint that I should get going. Used to that on his part.
But then their cashier stand got broken or something like that. Again, I had to figure it out myself because they don't bother communicating beyond "what do you want to order?" I waited, and waited, and then came up to the window and asked them to swipe me. Was asked to wait. Waited for 15 minutes more. Got my card placed back on my table, no apologies, nothing. Usually I feel like a second-hand customer in here, but this time it got ridiculous.
Oh and when I first entered he did not see me come in and saw me when I was already sitting down at the table. So he asked, "Can I help you?" There are no menus at the tables, mind you... That felt rude too... Why did he prompt me to ask him to do what he has to do when a customer comes in... So, there. Visit at your own risk.

I took my Girlfriend here and she is a native Hong Kong resident and we ordered the Chinese Squash and dumplings and it was excellent. The food is very tasty and original.
They cater to both American and Chinese having English and a special Chinese only menu.
