Came for this fish fry and it was a great experience. The music was fantastic and the food was good as well. It was about a 50-minute wait before we got inside but it was worth it. We will definitely be back.
We were in town for a week and had found out about banjo night prior to visiting. We arrived early And were asked if we had reservations, which we did not. We were offered seats and beer menus. Great place to visit every month on a Wednesday for their Banjo night. Good and cheap food (cash only). Great event to hangout with your buddies and enjoy lively and authentic Banjo music.
Banjo players were great! Really cheap drinks, friendly people, really down home atmosphere. Totally staffed by volunteers who do an awesome job! Bring a gang xnd come out for a fun night!
Enjoyed hearing the Pittsburgh Banjo Club. Started in 1988. Have performed every Wednesday evening at the Elks Lodge for the past 18 years. Talented group that enjoy playing. Good food and drinks. No admission charge. Free wholesome music that is not too loud.
Went to their Friday Lent fish fry. The food is excellent! You get fish and two sides. You can order either a large or small fish. The people that work this event are all volunteers and do an excellent job! I highly recommend this event!

I love to go to the Elks Club for Banjo Night (Wednesdays) and Jazz Nights (every other Thursday) with the Jazz Conspiracy and dance lessons. Lots of nice, interesting people, cheap drinks and chill Pittsburgh atmosphere. Definitely one of the cities best kept secrets.
