I did my taste buds a great disservice by only stopping in once in the year and some change that I've lived on Troy Hill before this week.
While I thought this place was great the first time, now that I've been to Thursday burger night and enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and coffee, I feel qualified to give this place a confident 5 stars.
-The atmosphere is great. Lots of natural light, and a friendly, enthusiastic staff.
-I had a turkey sub on my first visit several months ago. Fresh bread and tons of meat. I'm a fan of big portions when I eat, and the sub did not disappoint.
-The burgers at burger night were incredible! I can easily see why everyone has been singing their praises. No frills or gimmicks as seems to be the trend these days, just a perfectly cooked party, buttery toasted bun, and a nice selection of toppings.
-Breakfast sandwiches! This might have to be my new weekend breakfast spot. I got the sausage egg and cheddar sandwich. I don't eat breakfast sandwiches to be healthy, and that's a good thing, because this was a nice sized sandwich with loads of buttery goodness. Everything was cooked to perfection, and to be honest, I was a little sad once I finished it.
This is definitely going to be one of my regular food stops up here on the hill! �
Great coffee shop space with a full kitchen. Right now they have a breakfast and lunch menu. Feels like a coffee shop at the beach. Light and Airy.
My friend just moved literally right around the corner from here. We decided to try it this morning. We got a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and we also sampled some bakery items. The blueberry buckle, the oat and almond blondie and the carrot cake bite. Let me tell you, this food was amazing. The sausage was delicious and made in house. The bakery items were all amazing. That carrot cake bite though... the best thing I’ve ever had in my mouth. The icing was so velvety and delicious. I am so glad she lives so close. Can’t wait to try their lunch sandwiches and one of their iced lattes.
Phenomenal coffee and espresso drinks. Food is always 10/10. 1 sandwich could easily feed 2 people. 20% gratuity? Great. I usually tip more for service this awesome. Look at this bad boy. LOADED.
Edit: This was a takeout order that sat in my truck during a TWENTY FIVE MINUTE commute.
This little cafe is great. It’s definitely worth navigating Rialto. My sandwich was delicious and service was prompt and pleasant. I’ll be telling all my friends and coworkers to give this little spot a visit. Good luck finding anywhere else with food as tasty and prices as reasonable.

Pear and Pickle is an excellent restaurant noted for its breakfast sandwiches and beverages. I visited here one morning with a group of people and walked away feeling satisfied on multiple levels.
The food at Pear and Pickle is excellent and many have claimed that the breakfast sandwiches served here are among the very finest in the area. I would have to agree, as my own breakfast sandwich was beyond satisfying. The pound cake and iced tea added to my meal were also quite good and rounded out my morning meal.
But there are other reasons to love Pear and Pickle besides food. This establishment is a cafe, but it looks very much like a person's home. They even have a book shelf loaded with different reads so you can kick back and enjoy a good book with your meal. And the friendly service makes the visit complete. You truly feel like you are at a friend's home, sharing a meal and talking about the day.
Pittsburgh has much more to offer than many people realize and Pear and Pickle is one of the highlights. Excellent food and service and a home- like atmosphere make this a must- visit foodie destination.
Café for the win!! This place is a must if you need your coffee/espresso fix. Owners originally from Brooklyn. They use Stumptown coffee. Fun eclectic ambiance in a unique neighborhood. Family friendly and great space. Outdoor seating on the roof. Do yourself a favor and go there. Then go there again. We went for breakfast and lattes at 9 am. Went to the Troy Hill splash pad (4 min drive) and then came back for cold brew to go on our way home. Do it.
Terrific neighborhood coffee shop and lunch cafe. Featuring vegan, gluten free, and special locally crafted drinks, food, and service. Breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and full lunch menu. Warm, inviting and relaxing. I didn't care for the music, but it's hard to find good disco, LOL.
My partner and I visited for brunch on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and food. We got breakfast sandwiches and lattes - both were delicious.
The space is much nicer and much larger than it looks from outside. I was impressed by the fact that they are clearly socially/environmentally conscious without being preachy. It is a very comfortable place that's full of charm.
We found an eclectic group of patrons scattered about in the dining area -- some studying, some chatting, all enjoying their morning in this fine establishment. We will definitely back!
