Mendoza Express is a hidden gem nestled between Crafton and GreenTree. A quaint little restaurant on Noblestown Road that sits in an old house.
There's roughly 10 tables inside, 3 tables outside, and such a cool rustic feel to it. The food is spectacular, the best authentic Mexican food I can find in Pittsburgh. Mendoza knows what he's doing. And the family that runs it is super nice as well, it's easy to strike up a conversation with everyone there.
Great for lunch or dinner, the portion size is fantastic, you probably could share one of the combo platters.

Mendoza is my favorite comfort food restaurant. I always get either the champion burrito or the chicken quesadilla special. I also highly recommend the fajitas!

Don't judge this book by it's cover! Super nice owners that give spectacular service. I got some chorizo tacos and was blown away! Highly recommended if you're in the area.

I ordered ONE carne asada taco just to taste it. It was delicious! The meat was in a mild red sauce with diced onions and fresh cilantro. It was nice size, not those mini ones I've seen. This place is true Mexican. I'm going back next week to try one of their combo plates. I don't think I'll be disappointed.

I called here about 15 minutes before close and the owner took my order. We ordered shrimp fajitas and combo fajitas. The food was delicious. But the customer service was amazing. I only had 30 bucks in cash and our order came to 31 or so and the owner, I believe, took the 30 bucks instead of taking my card. He also showed me all the pictures on the wall of the big burrito winners. I even heard him answer the phone after closing and tell the customer he would wait for them arrive, I'm assuming it was a regular customer. I felt like a very appreciated customer. I will definitely come back here.

My Husband and I LOVE this authentic Mexican Cuisine. All is fresh and the flavor's will keep you coming back. Try their mole sauce. To die for. Prices are very reasonable. Once you eat here you'll never go back to other same old American Mexican restaurants. Very friendly staff. Waiting right now for my husband to bring my take out dinner. Don't miss out on this place!

Excellent food and nice staff. I have always bought the tacos from here and they were always good. Today I tried the steak fajitas and they were awesome. Just call 30min before you are ready to eat and your food will be hot and waiting for you. Small language barrier but excellent food.

Small place with maybe 10 small tables. No air conditioning. We got food to go- two combo platters. The gentleman that runs the front of the house is very nice and even held the door for me when I left! We were surprised with the amount of food we got. We had enough for 4 meals. The food was good. I expected more spice. It actually was a little bland. Not the best Mexican I've had and not the worst.

Small, family owned and run. The food is great and value priced, and comes out quickly. It’s fun to slip away and watch Spanish language tv while I scarf down some Al Pastor tacos. Owners are really nice! The front door is very heavy, so be ready to put some muscle behind it.

Great Mexican food spot! Generous portions at good prices, and the hot salsa is actually hot! Cash and credit taken. Interior is small so not great for parties larger than 4.

Always quality food and generous portions for takeout. The dining room is no frills but cozy and inviting. They have a great el pastor burrito called The Marco Burrito (not on the menu) that is one of my favorite burritos of all time.

Absolutely without a doubt the best Taco's in the City of Pittsburgh. This little cozy place serves up "Real" Mexican Cuisine. If in the area I highly recommend stopping. Very good prices. Cheaper than Taco Bell and 1000 times better. This place makes all other taco irrelevant. This place is the real deal. Go get you some great food. NOW! Don't wait. Get in your car and go now. Serious go, leave NOW!...

Excellent food here. We've dined in and also have ordered take out and neither has disappointed. The prices are reasonable and the food is fresh and delicious. The restaurant is small and does not have air conditioning which made dining there in the summer a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn't unbearable! Highly recommend.

The best Mexican food in Pittsburgh. Run by a literal mom and pop, everything is made in-house, and served quickly, even during the lunch rush.
When you walk in, the owner seats you himself, but be sure to look to your left at the day's specials, as they will often have one-offs that don't make it to the regular menu, but are definitely worth a try!

Owner was very nice and helpful with assisting my sisters boyfriend with the door (wheelchair) and the food was delicious. Not chain authentic, true authentic Mexican food. Next trip this way will be back.

This place is one of a kind especially in Pittsburgh. It's a rare mix of simple fresh ingredients that will melt in your mouth, a price you can afford, and plenty to eat, served that way by this pair for decades. Enchiladas, tacos al pastor, chile rellenos, and rice and beans are all top notch.

Had the Marco burrito, it was beyond excellent! Very fresh, absolutely authentic flavor. So pleased! Service was great- the same lady who took the order made the food and she was so sweet. I will be returning often!

Mendoza is the best and most authentic Mexican I've had the pleasure to stumble on over the past few years. Abe and his wife; sometimes joined by their son, bought an old sandwich trailer (think house). Abe and his wife used to work in hospitality in Acapulco, had the American dream, realized they could do what they do here and earn a living, and did it.
Move over Don Pablos, Mendoza has authenticity. That's what makes them great. Sure, they only seat 15... but who cares when (sometimes) you can watch the ingredients get received and then have them on your plate. I've never had a bad experience here... even my ~gasp~ parents loved it (they don't love anything, including me).
The decor adds to the charm. Blissfully tacky-touristy items load the walls... and it all fits just fine. Leave your tux at home. Street food with a roof, and if you want it, a sit down Mexican dinner that can only be found south of Texas.
If you allow the outside to detract you, great... it means there is a seat for me inside, where I can squint and watch some lucha libre and enjoy one of the best meals in this city.

Taking the long way around the Green Tree Hill traffic jam turned out to be more than jsut a shortcut. Fajitas to go took no time at all and were well packed so when I got home I had quite a lovely meal. Will definitly be a repeat customer.
