I used to frequent the CTR locations in Squirrel Hill and Shadyside when I lived in the East End, it's definitely my preferred local chain because of the quality coffee, the atmosphere, and the helpful staff. I just wanted to express how excited I was to see that the baristas are forming a union (@coffeetreeunion on Twitter/Instagram)! The baristas there have always been friendly, kind, and competent people and they deserve to be treated and compensated fairly for their labor. Solidarity with Coffee Tree baristas, you guys rock!

Excellent. Everyone is super friendly and everyone can make a solid drink. Though there are a few who make *outstanding* drinks. I've shown up in some pretty bad moods, but I always leave with a smile on my face. One of my favorite coffee spots in the city. This specific location (Shadyside is good but not nearly as good for example).

Rated 5 stars in support of union workers! Exploitation of workers is built into Coffee Tree’s business model Reject cheap coffee. Reject businesses that can’t afford to pay decent wages. Your coffee will only be as good as the conditions that produce it. The writing has been on the wall for years, support CTR baristas!

Happy to see the workers filed to unionize with UFCW Local 1776!!! Not surprised that they fired one of their employees in retaliation. I used to work there and it was awful. The owner disabled electronic tips, they were paying people minimum wage and they didn’t let us take breaks even if we worked a double. Solidarity with the baristas!!

One of my favorite places to sketch and draw in squirrel Hill and Pittsburgh. Staff is always very friendly and eager to help. I always get a decaf Americano and it is always made to perfection. Definitely give this coffee shop consideration if you would like a third place to come work and get a good drink.

I worked in the Fox Chapel location, happy to see you are doing well. I moved to Virginia Beach, VA , they now have some great coffee spots here. Do you do n mail order!

The two fine young gentlemen working this morning not only provided excellent and welcoming service, but pulled a double shot of espresso in which the care given to their craft was evident in its perfectly balanced nature. on the cafe - pretty much a no frills comfy cafe, whose espresso tastes like a tastier version of European/Parisian espresso, instead of trying to mimic a fine whisky, maximizing every possible particularity of the bean like commonplace across the street ; ) different strokes, for different folks. Also, go here if you prefer not to walk into a 'sea of laptops' at your neighbourhood cafe. Should definitely consider closing at midnight/1am again like the old days :)

I go here often. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the coffee is great, and they have a nice assortment of baked goods, snacks and other odds and ends. Great environment. Love it!

The coffee I've had is better and less expensive than the chains. I have to defend what I've read on staff. I went on a Friday evening and the person in front of me while showing they had enough cash insisted on charging for the $1.90 drink which wasn't going through. Relentlessly annoying customers take up time and rarely tip. Staff are appreciative and never passive-aggressive to anyone. Service is often slowed by customers regardless the efficiency of staff. I'll be back. My favorite coffee establishment in Squirrel Hill.

The best coffee in the Burgh, if you're looking for a great cup of coffee and are tired of *$s and DD try Coffee Tree Roasters it is a completely different experience and small batch roasting is an art this company has definitely mastered. I absolutely love this place.
