The waitresses are a delight each and every visit and I’ll put the Spanish omelet with home fries up against any breakfast in the city. The Allegheny Sandwich Shoppe had a great run, but this place is even better under new ownership!

I'm from Italy, and I use to go to Pittsburgh every year for around 3 months. And every time, I go for lunch there pretty much every day. And I love to sit at the counter, and chat with the owner lady. The dishes are typical American style. Simple, abundant and cheap. And the soups are fabulous. I really miss that place, and I hope to be able to go there soon...

Breakfast was delicious. I had the Western Ave Western Omelet which was loaded with ham, onion, peppers tomatoes and cheddar cheese. The home fries were perfect and just a just a really good flavor. I really enjoyed it and I'll definitely be back.

Food is always what I expect, service, I don't think the waitress could have done any better since she was by herself, but non the less it took a while especially when you're busy and only get a short time. Overall good

I have been on a Ruben kick, and while many have been good, this place has the absolute best Ruben!!! For about $10, you get an amazing sandwich, chips, and a pickle.
Everything we've tried is delicious, the place is clean, and the staff is friendly!

Loved everything about the Allergy Sandwich Shop. The portions are generous, they use real food and fresh food, and the staff are so pleasant and helpful. The food comes out quickly and hot. Free parking lot too. It is a slight step back in time to the Pittsburgh when you knew other people you passed on the street. That is the feeling it gave me, Mr. Rogers' Pittsburgh. My only constructive feedback was that the steak on my steak salad was cut first and then cooked. My guess is that this saves time or helps with portion control but I would always prefer to wait longer or pay more to have it cooked whole, then slice it.

I get take out most of the time and when I walk in the food is coming out of the kitchen right on time still hot. Recommend the meat lovers scramble.

This is the friendliest local small town place to eat in a big city! These ladies are so kind and clearly love their patrons and each other. Our food was hot and Delicious! Prices were fair and the atmosphere was relaxed. They have free parking in an empty lot across the street. We will be returning soon!

Best coffee and service in the city..and the pancakes are in a league of there own!

Good Food til Cooks Burnt it!. If you have a compliant, don't let them know about it. Cooks put pieces of burnt burnt burnt and rolled it up in my omelette food after I mentioned that an item on the menu was not included in the omelette. I had been getting breakfast here 2-3 times a week til this happened. I was always nice and never had an issue. I think they may not have liked the color of my skin so they burnt the food.<br/><br/>Not many Black people eat there.... so.... maybe they were trying to keep me out! It worked!

This really is the BEST place for a simple sandwich or breakfast - and Joy is THE BEST!. I cannot say enough good things about this place! They don't have gourmet sandwiches or breakfast, but they have such an old fashioned feel to the restaurant, and they serve the staples, and do it well. <br/>We've gone for breakfast and it was amazing. The best part?? They GRIND their own coffee there, so they have the best coffee of any breakfast place I've tried. They have an amazing reuben sandwich (with REAL turkey in it, which isn't standard, but was an amazing addition to this classic!) and their omelettes are great. But that COFFEE! This is our favorite place for a saturday morning, lazy, affordable breakfast. <br/>We just went back for lunch and their bread is really great - solid and sturdy! The sandwiches have a good amount of meat in them, the BLT was really good (we added an egg) and the bacon was crisp and copious. Their brewed iced tea is to die for - so refreshing! <br/><br/>To make it even better, their staff is excellent. We're always seated really quickly, and we've been waited on twice by Joy who is utterly delightful. If you're having a bad day, you might as well go down there, get a cup of coffee and talk to Joy - she is such a ray of sunshine, so helpful and really courteous. All in all, we ADORE this place. It is nothing fancy, but it is solid, secure, quaint and everything you could want for a great lunch under $20.

This place is great! I was going to take a picture of my food but it looked so good that I forgot. I was there on a Wednesday around 7am and it was so fast that I was pleasantly surprised!! This food was so good!! I had the tri-river breakfast and it was more than enough food for me. The sausage and bacon was way above my expectations! This was probably the best breakfast that I have had in Pittsburgh! They are doing great things at this place!!

My husband and I happened to be walking in the neighborhood exploring and looking for places to rent. I was hungry and here was the sandwich shoppe. We stopped in and I had breakfast foods and husband has Dagwood. This was the best meal we have had so far exploring the city. Everything was fantastic! Do yourself a favor and eat here.

Stopped here after Alzheimers Walk, only to discover so many others had too!! 1/2 hour wait:(. but Mike the owner offered to bring us coffee while we waited outside, then opened the back of his SUV and we did a coffee tailgate!! <br/>food was great, especially the waffles! service was too! very friendly staff and patrons. super local restaurant!! definitely a go to place for breakfast and lunch!

Really sweet place. Clean, comfortable, and most importantly- comfort food! <br/><br/>Our friendly waitress expertly served us without being over/under-attentive. The food was a surprise- diner breakfast fare with nice presentation! The fact that they served red potatoes instead of the standard white was especially nice.<br/>Overall, a really good experience. This place is definitely a keeper!

Open early. A great early morning option for breakfast on the Northside. Most open at eight Allegheny opens at seven on Saturday. Food and service were top notch. Interior clean and quaint. Definitely will stop again hopefully to try lunch.

Great CHEAP breakfast!. I love the breakfasts here, they're cheap, good and great! Their waitresses are a charm! Lunches are alright though, I only come here for the breakfast.
