The Modern Cafe

A polite endearing atmosphere. Bar Tender/Counter server Dale was supreme. Shaking hands and meeting new patrons/me. He was superb poring drinks and conversing. Every staff member that entered the bar area was courteous and provided a friendly greeting. Though the dinning area had plenty of seating opportunities, I'm thankful we sat at the bar. Service was quick/fast. Portions were plentiful, cooking seasoning was not. My burger was oversized and required both hands. An overflow of lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Fries hot and abundant. I would have preferred fresh cut--and seasonings. Dales was upset but helpful that the kitchen errored on both meals--my friend's fries were not cheese, and bacon was omitted from my bacon burger. Nor was my burger medium-well--overcooked. However, everything was good, not delicious. Dale corrected the receipt to avoid overpayment. I will return and sit with Dale again. I will request spices and encourage verbal communication with the cooks to eliminate errors. My buddy/frat brother loved his Reuben!

Great little place to sit down and chat. The atmosphere was quiet at the time we went (3pm on a Saturday), but there were plenty of people. The service was friendly and quick. The food was great. Highly recommend "The Spartan" if you're hungry. The gyro meat was on point and delicious. The onion rings were not greasy and battered. Our kid loved the fries and chicken tenders.

Classic American Bar and Grille. Happy Hour has half-off drafts and they have an extensive beer collection in cans and bottles. Very clean interior and has some outside seating. Only gets a 4/5 as the messed up my order. But, the burger I did get was very, very good. Fries were just ok—you can tell they were frozen. Service was great and they comp'd me the burger I did order to go, even though that I insisted it was unnecessary. I definitely recommend. I think the cook just made a mental error, and hey—shit happens. Going to give this place a second chance and maybe try one of their sandwiches.
