This place has been here for over 50 years.
Have been getting their hot sausage sandwiches since I was a little girl. Best in the Burg. Never disappointed. Staff always friendly and accommodating. Cash only establishment.
Their sausage sandwich is the same it was over 50 yrs ago. Never disappointed!

I thoroughly enjoyed my footlong with extra chili…. The chili is amazing…. It’s a true Pittsburgh staple, everyone should experience it. Small menu great service… my husband used to come here as a kid and said nothing has changed….

The folks that work there are always so welcome me when you walk in plus the food is really good if I could I'd eat there every day but I would be as big as a blimp. Try it out you will see what I mean.

This place hasn't changed since I first started coming here as a teenager the foot longs are delicious with mustard chili and onions. The hot sausage and meatball sandwiches are awesome if you drive or walk by in the morning you can smell the onions cooking. One of the best hot dog shops in the city.

Good hot dogs and kielbasa. Very inexpensive and excellent service. Definitely a unique place, people that have been here before will understand this. No matter what you smelled like going in you come out smelling like Frankies!😀😅🤣

I used to eat here all the time. Chili cheese dogs are so good.
Went back with my dogs in the car once (wife was in there too, don't panic) and they gave me all the hot dogs that didn't get sold at lunch, for all 3 of them. That was so nice of them and my dogs were DEFINITELY happy about it.

Drove by twice and had to stop. They were out of hot dogs, so I opted for a hot sausage by their recommendation. I am so glad I did. They said I'd be back, I almost didn't leave. The bread was fresh, the sausage melted in your mouth and the peppers and onions were delicious.

Haven’t been here in years but it is the same Frankie’s as I remember. Great hot sausage and the footlongs with chili and cheese were great. Gonna have to make this a go to again after all these years. Never disappointed. Cheap and good. FoodFather Approved!

Frankie's Extra Longivity. In my time here I have seen businesses come and go on Butler St. I have seen the same storefronts change 6-7 times in the last 15 years. But give some credence to the anchors that built this neighborhood.
Neids, Hambones, Wagner, and yes Frankies. The list goes on and on.
Places like these have added color and yes flavor to this neighborhood for 50-60 years.
Frankies for example has a regular clientele who are sports, broadcasters and restaurant owners. And I even see one of our State Senators in there on a regular basis.
So Pittsburghers new and old to you I say, Look forward to your future but don't forget your past.
Hammond Eggs

Great Little Dive. Atmosphere is....like one expects from a neighborhood dive.

Food is cheap. $3 for a footlong. Good too.

Always get the onions cooked.

Just wish they had fries. I'd go much more.

Pittsburgh tradish. This is the place people in Pittsburgh go to get a classic dog.... I grew up on these dogs... This is not for the foodie looking for a local casing, local turned swine, blah blah blah... believe me I'm all about gastro pubs seasonal/fresh/ local and going out for the finer things but this place is to grab some dogs, live life and chew the fat. GET THE ONIONS idk if they ever change the juice they always taste the same, its always delicious

I agree place has resisted change really need to update or at least improve the upkeep of the restrooms. Ate here last time about 20 years ago. Not exactly the same quality or price still very good....just stay out of the restrooms

Old fashioned, bare boned. This is definitely a hot dog joint that's been around for a while and has resisted change it's entire life. Frankie's is a hot dog joint and that's all you're going to get. The hot dogs? They're okay but they're cheap. What you mostly go to Frankie's for is the conversation and the fact that a little hot dog joint sells some pretty cheap beer. You can chill out with some guys you know've been going to Frankie's their whole life and talk about whatever's on your mind. I fancy the T-shirts they sell and want to get one some day.

(Y)ou might find yourself charmed by Frankie’s lack of, well, charm.
