This was my first time at Pie for Breakfast. It is highly recommended. The bottomless mug of Commonplace coffee is a tasty way to start the meal. I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes. They were very flavorful and fluffy, and they tasted great with the PA maple syrup. In fact, these were the best buttermilk pancakes that I have ever had in Pittsburgh! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Two words.....Pie & Coffee. Been wanting to go here and should have a long time ago... Nice atmosphere great coffee with kitschy creamers. Had to grab a coffee cup for home too. Mouth watering apple onion quiche, cheesy grits i could have swam in for days, and had the most special pie...Vinegar pie! Dont let the name scare you its so balanced with sweet and that hint of vinegar to cut the sweetness with. We will be back!

We’ve been here on a Sunday morning. It’s a quite relaxed and cozy place and the service was really friendly and fast. The main reason for our visit was their pumpkin pie - as we are not us citizens this was definitely on our must try list. According to our limited knowledge, the pie was good but probably also nothing too special, cold and ok-sized. However, we’ve figured out that pumpkin pie flavor is just awesome and we have to try another one! In terms of the normal breakfast, I’d say it’s decent but a bit more expensive.

Solid place for breakfast. Their coffee is from Commonplace so it’s good. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We had an omelet that comes with bacon, avocado, and cheese. Also we had their quiche special that had asparagus and goat cheese, that was fire along with the home fries. We had really great service. Overall, I enjoyed my breakfast here but in my opinion it was slightly overpriced. I would still recommend trying this spot out if you’re near the Oakland area.

Despite the name, they also have savory options as well as pie. Kielbasa and eggs were delicious. Smaller venue that can lead to some serious wait times, but it was definitely worth the 40 minute wait.

I didn't think I would like this place, but Oh. My. God! Amazing breakfast/ brunch food all from scratch! Hands down my new favorite breakfast place! The vinegar pie blew my mind. You have to try it 👍

Our server was great. We had the housemade ginger beer (amazing), a chai latte (pretty tasteless, but they said it was a new addition), the porkchop (the applesauce was amazing), the lamb burger (I want all of the cucumber sauce), and took a piece of vinegar pie to-go (OMG). Everything was great, although to be honest, the toast was kind of tasteless which I wasn't expecting since they make it there. I definitely recommend it, although next time I may just get a few different kinds of pie! Also their drink menu looked awesome.

Almost devoured entire pie until I realized I hadn’t taken a picture yet. The vinegar pie is super tasty and the espresso pairs well with it. The top layer of the pie is just caramélisés pie filling which is delicious~ The crust is has a nice firmness to it and not soggy at all. My server was also super accommodating when I told him I needed to conference call someone. Nice and chill atmosphere. The WiFi isn’t for customers though and only for the point of sale machines.

Friendly staff, the pancakes we're very good and the butterscotch pie was to die for. Wasn't super impressed with the salt rising bread toast people rave about. I thought it was just ok.

Opened in June 2018. Hours will be fairly long but Sunday is brunch only. Brunch will not have a bottomless alcoholic beverage option but they do serve alcohol at all hours they are open. Biggest table are the booths (around 10), about 20 seats at the counter, and <10 tables for two. They have an espresso machine but also offer drip. Had biscuits and gravy. Flavor and texture was better than most. They said they'll be adjusting the menu over time and as of now, had two pie options (neither of which was breakfasty). Great attitude, fast service (but the place was not jam packed), and very proud that they are finally open. Looking forward to seeing this place establish it's own reputation.
