Last two times the food was amazing. It may have been because the first meal was free and the second was highly discounted because I managed to get on their mailing list. The place is small and dark with the entire showcase being the bar. There are a few large and a few medium/small tables so you can sit and chat. This place is the best for a nice meal and drink before headed out and cool spot for a social drink before headed home. Limited Street parking in front. 2-3 in the actual back (might be for crew) Various random parking within area just gotta hunt.

Mad Mex is pretty good. I got the chimichanga and it was good, nothing special but not bad! But the frozen margs were great! Definitely more on the pricey side for no reason though

Great spot for some delicious Mexican-American food and drinks. Margaritas were delicious and there were plenty of options to get what you wanted, the burritos somehow managed to be creative (square burritos?? there' still innovation in the burrito space??) and exactly what I wanted. The tofu appetizer whose name escapes me now was also really delicious, and everyone came away happy. Valet parking only across the street, which was a little annoying, but that's about it.

Great food! So many vegan options! Tofu for the burritos. Vegan cheese and sour cream options. Even seitan! The soy seitan wings were very sweet. Will try their spicy flavors next time.

The Crab quesadilla was quite good, and I was impressed by the apple cider margarita with the salted caramel rim. We got the trio of dips with chips for an appetizer and the spicy queso and guac were very good. The blue cornbread was amazing, and seemed like it was just cooked fresh.

First time eating at the Oakland location. Went there for lunch and it was clean and wasn't cramped. The bar had a wide selection of beer. I ordered the burrito with flank steak and it was great; you can also get the burrito with chicken, shrimp or tofu also. The appetizer chips were the best I've had. Will definitely eat there again.

Delicious food, full bar, rotating drafts, and great service. Half price food and $7 large margaritas after 9pm. I was not a big fan of the chips and salsa. The salsa was not flavorful and the chips were just ok, but the main dish I had was amazing!

Great food. Great beers. Great place. Mad Mex is a long-standing Pittsburgh gem. Get the Gobblerito if it’s on the menu. If it’s not, come back in November.
