The food was really really good, but it was the service that blew me away. I’ve been to some very high end restaurants, and I can tell you that what we experienced here with Brian as our server was exceptional. He knew just when to come in and ask us what we need, our glasses were full the entire time, he took the time to tell us about the food in a deep and insightful way. BRIAN, you were amazing.
The food was also great. We had a nice sample of seafood, beef, and salad. Believe it or not, but you can tell a lot about a restaurant by how fresh their lettuce and dressing are, and they did a great job here.
I did have the dry aged New York strip with bone in, and it I had any constructive feedback, it would be that the meat was just a bit on the tough side. I’d recommend a thinner slice, or simply mix up your aging technique as the end product could have been a bit more tender.
On the flip side, the crab was so fresh and tasty.
All in all, and fantastic experience.I’d certainly go back.

The place is nice. Right in the middle of downtown. We had the steak and shrimp with asparagus. Steak with fries and mashed potatoes with bacon the food was good . The place is a little over priced for the little portions that they give.

I can’t remember the last time I was at the Capital Grille. It’s expensive, but the service and quality make it worth the price sometimes.
My water was refilled almost too much. The service was wonderful. I’d never had a piece of tuna as large as what I got and they prepared it super rare as I requested. It was delicious.
The vibe is a bit dark/fancy for my tastes (I’m more into modern looking than old school stuffy), but the service and food make up for that. I’m sure I’ll return now that I remember how close it is to the theatres. I forget it’s there.

My lovely bride and I had the pleasure of dining out with our Daughter and Son-in-law and at the Capital Grille last night. The experience was amazing. We were greeted by our server is server Coy, who took excellent care of us the whole evening. The food was amazing as was the atmosphere. My wife and I shared a dry aged sirloin steak, which was magnificent. We enjoyed table sides of mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The French onion soup appetizer was awesome. The service last night was top notch. I would absolutely recommend the capital grill in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to family, friends, and colleagues.

This is your typical steak house with 5 star service! To me, they are all the same, though I do enjoy the atmosphere and professionalism of the wait staff. Never had a bad meal here. Generally spend between $300-$400 with wine/tip. We treat this as a date night or special occasion dining! Definitely worth a trip!

We went on a team lunch. We were able to get a round table that accommodated 12 of us. Fresh baked bun and some butter to start with. Soft drink or Ice tea. Soup, Salad some appetizers options. Soup cup was a very small portion perfect size. Stake was good I choose medium it was good. My friend choose the same but it was bit more cooked, sides were fries, mashed potatoes, spinach they were good. The burger was good too. Overall good experience, the crew was good too. We skipped dessert but be prepared to pay 40-50$ a person.

My son took me to the Capitol Grille for Mothers Day. The service was excellent. The French onion soup was devine. My sons steak was done perfectly, as was my chicken. We weren't going to have dessert, but our server brought out the dish pictured. It was delicious.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary at the Capital Grille in Pittsburgh. The service was excellent, led by our server Will! The food was delicious and the chef provided us a special complimentary dessert. All acknowledged our anniversary and the table was decorated with a confetti heart. We were treated like royalty and highly recommend eating and celebrating here!

WOW! It’s been a very long time where we could find great service with great food. It was our first time dining and we absolutely LOVED Carlo! He was so informative and helped with making selections. Anything with the Oscar was the way to go. Stoli Doli is a fantastic drink. Calamari was great. Overall was a great experience. New England Clam Chowder was pretty darn good.
10/10 would come back any day of the week. Hopefully he’s there when we go back :)

We had an excellent evening and experience when visiting. The food was superb and the service was amazing. Our server, Cruz, made the experience even more so enjoyable as he was very attentive and took great care of us. Everything was perfect and we can’t wait to visit again!

One of the best meals I have had in a LONG time! Not one course was a let down. The meal is not cheap, but I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of food I was served. The waitress was incredible, and her recommendations were spot on! Highly recommended! Don't leave without trying the cheesecake!!!

Very comfy, comfortable, as a seafood lover I felt well taken care of. Decided to change it up from my usual seafood habit and get the chicken breast, nice and moist on a bed of risotto. Lovely.

I used to say that no restaurant could ever be a pure 10/10 because no matter where I went the food was never taken to that next level that made my jaw drop. One other restaurant and The Capital Grille changed that opinion this year. The tuna tartare was a great start, the drinks were phenomenal, it was the best French onion soup I’ve ever had and the salads were top tier. My mother’s 10 oz filet was the most tender and flavorful steak I have ever tried in my life and my veal tomahawk was amazing for the one time in my life I allowed myself to try it. They brought us a complimentary dessert for my moms birthday that included samples of most of the dessert menu. Let me tell you I am not a dessert person and I couldn’t keep my fork away from that plate.
Carlo was one of the best servers in the industry. Period. And I have never had someone act so courteous and be so informative with people who were as lost as we were at first… lol. After trying most of the fine dining restaurants in Pittsburgh, this is easily in the top 3. Highly recommend to anybody who feels like blowing money on the best restaurant experience there is. This place deserves the 5 stars. It was truly an unbelievable experience.

I was absolutely pleased with my visit to the capital Grille. We stopped in without reservations and we’re looking for a seat at the bar. The wait staff were extremely helpful and found a spot for us to sit without waiting. We have the truffle fries asparagus and mushrooms and they were excellent. Definitely get the truffle fries if you’ve never had them. Definitely consider sitting at the bar if you don’t wanna wait for a reservation and would like coffee dessert or even the full food menu. Delicious! We started off with a soup and salad, my husband getting the lobster bisque and I getting the Cesar salad. He had the lamb and I had the filet. The filet was so tender and the cook was absolutely perfect. I had a two bites of his and it was delicious also. The service was fabulous too. One thing that I wasn’t crazy about was the loud atmosphere, however, we sat directly in the middle of a restaurant on a Friday night, so I’m sure that given those circumstances, that won’t be everyone’s experience. I would recommend it if you’re looking for good American cuisine.
