The Bbq Spot

First time visit here for lunch on Wednesday January 29, 2020. We go to the yummy Pirogi place next door often and love the smell of this BBQ pit always smells good. So for lunch, we decided to give it a shot. Two guys were working, one at the order counter and one in the back mostly out of view. We both ordered the Brisket under SPECIALS. I got the mac and cheese and wife got potato salad. The mac and cheese had meet in it and to me I did not like it at all. The potato salad the wife got was the win. The brisket came slathered in a really good sauce. At first glance the hamburger bun it came on looks small but inside there was a generous amount of beef and it was all lean. Zero fat. The drink was a can of soda and it came with a small bag of chips. Comes with Pickles and jalapeno slice. Pickles are bread and butter The guy at the counter was quite friendly.

My wife and I just happened to see this BBQ restaurant and decided to try it out. It's a small carry out BBQ and it's a 5 🌟 for it's venue. The brisket is lean, well seasoned and smoked. The beans are true homemade BBQ style. The Mac and Cheese is great with a hint of a southern "kick". The prices are great and this place sends the other chain BBQ restaurants to the bottom of the list in my opinion. Update: subsequent visits have been a disappointment. The service is excellent and I still am very satisfied with the Mac & Cheese and the beans, but the brisket has become very fatty. Even though the brisket is cooked slowly and the fat gets rendered down, the amount of fat content seems to have increased and I've been unable to eat it. So that is why I've l lowered my star rating.

Let me just say wow! All of the food was delicious, brisket and ribs are wonderful. Collards were awesome, mac n cheese was great too. Never had smoked meatloaf before but damn if it wasn't good also. Prices are good , and the staff was so friendly. We will definitely be going back, its my new fav bbq place.

Got the half-brisket half-pork 2/3 pound sandwich. Brisket was great, tender and beefy with good crust. Pork was also great, good smoke flavor. Sauce hits the right balance between sweet, heat, and tang.Mac and cheese was full of smoky pork. Staff is friendly, prices are super reasonable. Skip the chains and go see these folks!

I have been going to them since they were standing on the side of the building next to the saloon. The owner and the employees are such sweet individuals. The food is fresh, and gives off that nice smoky taste like at a camp sight. The brisket and ribs are my top two recommendation. Give this place a try if you want bbq that is not you typical propane or charcoal taste. Try the smoke way. Where it is slowly cooked, and keeps the natural flavor of the meat. So go on and get a tast of the old fashion way.

Stopped today to get barbecue and what I ended up with was good. But of course I was missing the sides to my brisket dinner. I know better to leave and not check but after having a nice conversation with the guy and he apologizing for it taking so long, I just assumed it was correct. Of course 20 minutes later when I get home I saw differently and was missing part of my order. @$#& I'm so tired of restaurants charging you for product and not giving it to you, especially when they repeat your order back to you to make sure they heard you correctly.

OMG Can't even tell you how happy I am to know that my favorite BBQ place is back in business. The previous owner of Johnnie Mack's has opened this place and brought all of his deliciousness with him. Yeah yeah I know they have been open for a while, but I am sceptical about "New BBQ" places... so we tried it tonight and boom so pleased. I got the 4 bone rib dinner, and the spare ribs just pull apart. That ridiculous Mac and Cheese is spot on and those greens are even better than before. My daughter got the pork dinner and yes you better believe it is just so tender and moist. Not sure who said small portions and big prices... but they dont know BBQ. Great BBQ is expensive and it should be. This man is not expensive he is very fair priced and you can taste what you're paying for. Freaking delicious!!!!! One happy man!
