Lady Bedford's Tea Parlour

I absolutely love this place. I had my sisters' bridal shower at this tea parlour and it was the best. The staff was so helpful and kind. Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves. I live in Florida but whenever I'm visiting my mom in NC we always make a trip to this place. It has become a must on our agenda.

After taking a tea class, a friend and I are trying local 'afternoon tea services'. Lady Bedford's met our high expectations. There was a nice selection of teas with a generous portion of fresh scones, sweets and savories; they were tasty and unique. My favorite was the cucumber on cinnamon bread. Yum. Each of us had a separate tower of treats so there were no problems that come with sharing. Service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere had a very English-cottage feel. Tidbits of information on tables and walls added interest. We made a reservation and showed up promptly--a must for this small, intimate tea room. (Note that the previous, less-than stellar review for Lady Bedford was written by one such late-comer)

Although I have enjoyed an afternoon tea at Lady Bedford's with my family, I can not recommend this place. My granddaughters much anticipated tea party was nearly ruined by boorish and condescending behavior by one the staff. Fortunately she was unaware of the rudeness and had a wonderful time. Don't expect considerate treatment if you are planning a child's party even though it is featured on their website.

I love taking my little girl here for a special day. It's a proper tea, so she has to sit still and use manners and be careful, but the beautiful setting and delicious tea & cakes helps with that. The ladies who run Lady Bedford's are so sweet with children. It's especially nice for a multigenerational day.

My daughter and I were guest of my sister-in-law at Lady Bedford's for lunch. What a delightful time we had....food was lovely...service by the sisters was outstanding and lots of pleasant conversation. Will be sharing info about your little gem to all my family and friends...looking forward to my next visit.
