Maria's Mexican Restaurant

The first time we went, we sat inside and I got the enchiladas verdes and they were good but not review good. But today my husband and I got the chipotle chicken pasta, and that was AMAZING. Definitely worth a 5 star review. We ordered take out the second time and it was fast and I liked that I could order online and request curbside. I also liked that my take out meal still came with the chips and salsa, so I don’t feel like I missed out.

Top notch service: we had a great server and in this area, that is super hard to find. Clean restaurant, timely service and meal service. Food was seasoned well and tasty. Lost star is because it wasn't a lot of food and the pricing. Maybe it's the Americanized version but the menu is pretty Americanized and the portions were TINY. $13 of Mexican food never looked so small; the bang for the buck wasn't there. Nothing annoys me more than having to ask what a price it; drink prices aren't listed. Very presumptuous for any restaurant to assume you can charge whatever you want without advertising it first. This isn't just this restaurant, of course. At the end the prices advertised were not the prices that showed up on the check. The server fixed it and apologized! Definitely acknowledging them fixing it; would advise customers to double check their charges.

Margaritas terrible and tasted like a wrong mix undiluted. Chips and shells burnt taste. Red sauce on entrees needs discarded, awful taste. Absolutely nothing tasted good from a taco, cheese enchilada, beef and been burrito and fajitas. Most expensive and disgusting dinner in Pinehurst. Won’t return!! Absolutely gross!!

My wife and I had a wonderful Cinco de Mayo dinner last night at “Casa Santa Ana II” Ulmstead Village. Formally “Maria’s”. My wife read some reviews and said some were unfavorable. I want to correct those reviews. I’ve followed Maria for some 23 years and love her but this place is great. We now have a new favorite place 1 mile from the house. Chori Queso, awesome. Enchiladas Verde and Fish Tacos fantastic. Don’t t know how 7 Lakes kept this food gem hidden. As the pic shows, I asked for some salsa with a kick and got a bowl of tomatillo and ”El Diablo” red. Both awesome. Thanks
