The Hook

We walked 3/4 of a mile from the big red. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly. The bathrooms were clean except a sticky residue on the floor. The fish was bland and tasteless, leaving an oily residue in your mouth. (I️ doubt the fish was cooked in peanut oil). The French fries has a chili seasoning on them if you like that sort of thing, personally I️ would have preferred that left off. The Cole slaw had a good flavor. The hush puppies were extremely dry. The waitress kept the tea glass full. Not likely to revisit, if fish is your main menu item, it should be “off the hook”.

Got there no toilet paper in bathroom, service was horrible. Waitress told my husband she could not add bacon and cheese to his fries but we had to order them separate so had 2 order of fries that came with our burgers and another order with bacon and cheese Then both of our burgers were wrong, they refilled our drinks and put no ice in our cup at all and gave my husband unsweetened tea when he had sweet tea. My husband is more tolerable than I am. I just wanted to leave and tell them to shove it up the a$$. Price wasnt bad. Food was mediocre.

Nice clean restaurant. Server was very young and very friendly. She must have been well trained. She did a great job. The catfish was very good. The fries and hushpuppies were less than fresh. The coleslaw was average. This would be a good restaurant with better attention to detail. The service was good, the catfish was good (I'm from Mississippi we have the world's best catfish). If the hushpuppies and fries were given the same attention this would have been a 5 star review. Unfortunately the hushpuppies and fries sucked.
