My family is from Texas so we take our Que seriously. We haven’t been in Az but 3 weeks. We tried a couple others that where ok, but when I walked in this place it smelled good so I had a feeling it was about to be so yummy! I was NOT disappointed!!!! We got the magnolias sampler because we really couldn’t make up our minds on what we wanted to try first. The sweet lady behind the counter suggested we get that. She wasn’t wrong, it came with a little bit of everything and we added a gallon of tea and a gallon of lemonade and a slice each of peach cobbler cake which is never heard of but was sooooo good! It tasted like a summer at grandmas house surrounded by cousins on a Sunday after church! The sweet potatoes tasted like moms but don’t tell her I said that! The owner came out and he was so nice and the girl who packed our order was nice too. Over all I can say I can not wait to go back and when family comes to visit from home, I’m taking them here to eat!!
I ordered from their food truck when they came to my workplace for lunch recently. I chose the meat and Mac with chicken. It was really delicious but honestly a baked Mac and cheese would taste so much better and the sauce would be thicker. I was blown away by the flavor. I've never had smoked chicken taste so good. This is definitely one of my new top favorite food trucks. I also ordered a generous portion of peach cobbler for dessert and I devoured that in record time. I was completely stuffed and had instant food regret. Don't get me wrong, it was all delicious but next time I'm not ordering the large plate. I ate half my entree at lunch and the rest of it for dinner and I'm still feeling full. It is definitely worth giving a try and I can't wait until they come back again.
I came across the Sweet Magnolia Smokehouse food truck @Dayofthedog in Old Town this weekend. I was really excited when looking over the menu as I am a huge fan of smoked meat. We ordered the Trifecta, which is brisket, pulled pork, and sliced chicken with collard greens and a bun. We also added a hot link. The flavor was delicious, but it was not very much food for 27 dollars. There were only specks of brisket mixed in with the pulled pork instead of a full serving and the bun felt like it was purchased from a grocery store. I highly recommend the food, but I would go to the physical location instead of the food truck.
Looking for some reasonably priced BBQ. Sweet Magnolia has delicious BBQ and good portion sizes. Their Brisket and Rib Tips are amazing and they know how to make a real potato salad. Staff is friendly and willing to give samples. No complaints.
The rib tips were good because they had plenty of meat with minimum fat and stuff. The hot link wasn't hot but it had good flavor. Overall all the bbq portion of the meal was good though next time I'll either ask for less sauce or sauce on the side. My sides were collard greens and peach cobbler. The greens were good but unfortunately the cobbler was the worst I've ever tasted. It has a weird cake texture to it (which is definitely not traditional for peach cobbler), it wasn't wet/moist at all, it seemed more like some kind of peach cake instead of a peach cobbler. I think it was just a bad day for the cobbler though because it was really salty in places and there was only one peach in and it was burnt in one section on the bottom. I did like the portion size though! If this place was closer I would go back.
I always go here for lunch and the sandwiches are amazing. The ladies who work at this location are so welcoming and friendly. My brother loves the Mac and cheese bowls with the meat in it. I tend to go for the ribs. The sides are generously portioned. Cornbread muffins are so soft and melt in your mouth. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend
Had some barbecue from their food truck, at the SRP event. These are very friendly, nice and polite folks. The food was slappin'!
I was so hungry, and it was so good that I neglected to take pictures of it. But I'm sure I'll be back sometime in the future, to check out their brick and mortar spot. The ribs were flavorful, the cornbread muffin was buttery and moist, the sweet potatoes were the right amount of sweet, and the macaroni and cheese was the best I've had so far in the valley. I tasted some of my friends collard greens, and they were just the right amount of spicy.
This BBQ place is amazing. Nice and clean on the inside. Kind, helpful, and friendly staff. And the BBQ? Absolute gas. Some of the best coleslaw I have ever had. Definitely give this place a try if you haven’t! You will not be disappointed!
My friends….get here, however you do it, get here. Every bite is crafted BBQ. We enjoyed tender pulled pork, pork hot link and brisket. Accompanied by Mac n cheese and baked beans. Soped up the sauce with homemade cornbread. YUM!
Serious flavor. Next time I’m on the collard greens and sweet potatoes. Oooweee peach cobbler.

Absolutely delicious!! We ordered 1lb of rib tips with baked beans & collard greens as our side, and the order came with two cornbread muffins. Our only criticism is that we wanted more of that delicious BBQ sauce on the rib tips, but no worries, will be sure to ask next time. All in all. haven't had such delicious rib tips since moving to AZ! So glad to have found Sweet Magnolia. Delicious food and very friendly service with a smile. My new local BBQ joint. 5-stars
