Recently visited this restaurant by phoenix college the food was amazing! I tried the Sicilian sub it was our first time there the service was great ! The restaurant gives Italian vibes definitely must stop by if you haven't yet !

I don't say this lightly, but this was the best sandwich I've ever had in my entire life.
Everything was perfect. The sauce, the bread, the meat, the veg, and even the toasted sesame seeds on the bun.
This is the Bob's Burgers of sandwiches. A local, little, unassuming family owned shop that makes surprisingly excellent food.
Even my picky son loved it and agreed. We will definitely be coming back when we are in the area.

Pretty good sub! Mostly disappointed In the amount of meat on the sub. The potato salad was also good but the Caesar salad was not good at all. The chicken seemed slimy. I do not recommend. I got the super Sicilian!

BEST SANDWICH OF MY LIFE!!!!!! Very happy to write this review, especially knowing it’s their 50th year of business! When my late husband was a young boy, he would come here to get sandwiches with his parents. Back in the day they had small little tables that people could carve their names into. He did that once, but I still haven’t been able to find the table yet. He also continued to go there throughout his high school years and then, once we got together, we ate there pretty frequently. Even when we lived in Prescott, and he was working in Phoenix, he would stop by there and order four sandwiches, and then bring them home so we had some for a few days. It is by far the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I say it every time I have it and it is still true to this day. Every. Single. Bite. Every time I go to Phoenix now, my Ma and I always make it a point to stop there and eat! I recommend it to all of my family and friends and people that I hardly know if they’re looking for a great sandwich shop. Trust me.

Glad I tried this place out. The sandwich I ordered was the pepper beef which tasted really good. Worth a try if you like a good sandwich.

My buddy Brandon eats here weekly (for the past 40 years) and he loves it. I see now why. Great smiles at the counter. Great sandwiches. Great old stuff to look at. Don't go get a hamburger across the street, go to Mc Gurkee's and get a real Phoenix landmark.

Loyal regular customer for 15 years. Family owned and operated. Customer friendly with kind emploees and owners. Food is hand made to order at a reasonable value. Parking is limited so plan your time.

Great food. Barely any parking, lojy concerning is watch for my order and seeing the gentleman take payments, cash and card, and then go over and immediately handle bread.

The BEST sub spot in the USA apart from Publix. Whew! Thank God I accidentally came across this restaurant one day. My husband and I are truly obsessed with their turkey sandwich and nothing beats their potato salad!!

Portion size is pretty good for the price!! My husband usually pays about $30 for the both of us. I really hope y’all give size variations for the potato salad in the future (like small or large) because your recipe is a bangerrrrr😋
Only “bad” review is due to parking. Cramped up spots with a weird exit lol.
Overall a 9.7/10 spot. Would highly recommend.

Using the Dave Portnoy one bite review the pizza is a 7.6. The only draw back is there is so much cheese. If you love cheese this may get in the high 8's low 9's the sauce is super. The service is great. It's a nice quiet place. I wish I had brought a book.

Counter-service tasty Italian sandwich classics. Indulged in a side of potato salad, the tuna sub, and my spouse tried their super Sicilian. Perfectly crusted bread that is light and airy that goes down almost too easy. Highly recommend you support this local spot that has been around for over 50 years!

Awesome subs. I have been there only 3 times, got the Sicilian, the Super Sicilian and the Athenian Chicken. All were outstanding. Love the sesame seed buns, you just can't stop eating them.

En route to eye surgery we stopped here for nourishment. A tasty sandwich for sure but we definitely weren't filled up. A light meal does hit the spot so I may suggest ordering a bit more if you're the hungry type.

Ever since 2004 I've been coming to Jp Mc Gurkee's Sandwich Shop, even our son loves the sandwiches! This family own sandwich shop has the best subs and I always get the turkey sub with either a side of potato salad or a bag of chips. The menu includes pasta, homemade classic pizza and salads which are delicious as well!
It never disappoints I highly recommend bringing your family and friends to eat and enjoy the subs or anything from the menu!

I really liked this place! The turkey sandwich was very good! The biggest drawback is the lack of seating and parking. This will make it difficult for anyone to visit when the place is busy.
