Smashburger

This is by far the best Smashburger ever! The photos I took to not do the burger justice. It was humongous! Located across from In N Out Burger and you know how much I love that place. Fat juicy patties, real American cheese that melts perfectly and doesn’t turn into water. Burgers have a lot of flavor, and the staff is very friendly. The best part of all is it has the same prices for a comparable burger, at any of the fast food chains like McDonald’s Wendy’s or Burger King. People should ban those places, but there is no accounting for taste! LOL

After seeing an advert on tv I insisted on checking out Smashburger when next visiting Phoenix. I missed the lunch rush, which was a plus, and got the order taken quite quickly...but then the wait was considerably longer than expected. Still, what arrived was quite fresh and delicious: the limited-time offering Pub Triple Double Burger and a side of fried brussel sprouts. The burger was cooked well and perfectly seasoned, with minimal condiments on it (mustard, onions, and cheese) which helped keep the entire sandwich from sliding apart when bit into. The fried brussel sprouts were a welcomed change to the standard side-o-fries. A little greasy but that was to be expected. Overall, a good experience. I'll definitely give it another go next time I'm in Phoenix.

Smashburger in a convenient location, but somewhat dark room, or at least darker than other locations. Certainly doesn't get as much natural light as other locations. Service here is merely average, while elsewhere it is friendlier, and with a smile on their face, which isn't always the case here. Avocado might get served as one chunk instead of three slices, so somewhat lazy prep, and unless you play with your food you won't get avocado in every bite. Tasty rnough, and service speed about normal, not fast, but reasonable for cooking patty freshly.

1st time. Burgers very good. Not the best. Service outstanding. Young manager was fantastic. Never stopped working, greeting each guest warmly, & overseeing staff. I ran fine dining restaurants for years. This young man is a rare find. I'll be back simply because of his lead from the front example he gives his team.
