Yasu Sushi Bistro

I don’t understand how anyone can give this restaurant any less than a 5 star review. My husband and I have been multiple times, and each time, the food is better and better. It’s definitely recommended to make a reservation since it’s a smaller Japanese style restaurant. The chef has phenomenal taste, and only gets the finest ingredients. If you are a fan of Uni, this is hands down the place to get it! It’s not a “cheap” sushi restaurant, and prices are definitely worth the quality you receive. Every bite left us wanting more, and our server was very knowledgeable on the different dishes. We love Yasu!!

Surprisingly affordable with great selections and savory flavors. There's a reason they have a five star zagat rating. Our dinner was perfect. Great sushi cuts. The bacon wrapped dates were cooked just right. Same as the pork buns. The sushi chef was very friendly and chatting with people at the bar the whole time. Warm relaxing atmosphere. Completely unexpected considering the location.

Absolutely phenomenal. I knew it was going to be good as soon as I smelled the charcoal grill when I walked in, and I wasn't disappointed. This is the best and most authentic sushi and Japanese food that I've found on the west coast, and I can't wait to go back. Come with an open mind and don't expect to order California rolls. Yasu has put together a fantastically creative menu filled with great takes on traditional and modern Japanese cuisine.

Very first time here. Thank you AZ Times Union for saying this was one of the all time sushi places to go. I couldn't agree more. Our waiter was extremely helpful and explained the menu. He gave us his recommendations which we ended up getting. The scallops tasted amazing and so was our salmon roll. I'm looking forward to going back and trying all of his creations.
