Quaint neighborhood Thai restaurant with a lovely outdoor patio (like dining in a garden). First visit Gerard was amazing. Great service and pretty good food, although portions are not equal to prices. We didn’t enjoy the recommended pork dumplings at all; even had a very unappetizing odor. Pad Thai was very tasty.
Second visit was quite odd with service. Server seemed stand-offish and unfriendly. Midway through my meal, (unsure if they’re the owner, mgr, or?) came to my table, stood slightly behind me, to my right, just as I put a spoonful of noodles in my mouth to inquire how things were…needless to say, I obviously couldn’t answer (quite embarrassing and uncomfortable as they stood there waiting for a response—they should have immediately realized their error, apologized, and said they’ll check back shortly). Spice level was way off this visit. Requested 4 for Pad Thai, was 2 or less. The Shrimp was very large, but tasteless. Would’ve been nice to have sautéed it in the spices and sauce. The sirloin steak app was very flavorful and delicious. Only very sparse for $14. It would be nice if they offered a lunch menu. Inside dining is quite dark and tight. And there’s a very Small bar that also has two high top tables next to it.
Parking is very tight and there’s only one way in and going out is awkward since you’re at an angle that is facing in rather than out. Get there either right at opening or later like 2pm after lunch rush. Evenings are best to have reservations. They have excellent reviews and I believe rightly so, perhaps my 3rd visit will prove to be the best yet.
I’m not certain if the environment is reminiscent of a genuine home or restaurant in Thailand, but it’s a quaint and welcoming place. Space is limited and if you go on the weekend, you’ll likely wait 40+ minutes. But I assure you the cuisine is worthy of the extended wait time. I want to go again. The appetisers are delicious and the food is savoury. The amount of depth in the food is astounding, as it compels you to a subsequent bite. Your palate won’t become fatigued with the flavour. The waiter was amiable and informative and the price is slightly above average.
As many times as I have come here, I haven’t taken the time to appreciate this spot and write a review. All I can say to make a long story short is this is THE BEST Thai restaurant in Arizona. The level of detail the taste of the food and cocktails is just incredible. Thank you Glai Baan owners and staff for all the work you put in to making this place the best tasting food and experience ever.
Warm, welcoming atmosphere. I tried something new this time, suggested by owner, it was good but not great. Chicken wing appetizer not very savory. Just tasted like fried chicken. Overall though I think they do a very good job. Entrance was hidden. Suggest you try every door. (It's in the front)
Wow! This place indeed lives up to the hype that everyone has told me. One of my best or almost the best Thai food I’ve had in the valley no doubt. My friends came to visit from Houston and we all LOVED it. Favorite dishes we had voted by the group: pad Thai, panang curry, Tom yum soup, and mushroom appetizer. Can’t wait to come back and put more friends on this place!
This place is too expensive to have a fly issue. Absolutely beautiful building with vines growing all over the Walls and Even on the door entrance. The thai food was definitely some of the best. The service was Exceptional and the patio was gorgeous. Though it may not seem too expensive the portions Are not very large, you only get six chicken wings. So they shouldn't be having such a bad fly issue outside. The patio is one of the cutest patios in The area to eat at, So I hope the fly issue is taken care of next time I go.
The hype is real and well deserved. The tastiest Thai food in the valley. Each dish was bursting with flavor. Started with the Kanom Jeeb (pork dumplings) served with a tasty soy sauce, these were incredible. Next up Yum Woon Sen (glass noodles with shrimp), flavorful and the spices were on point. Peek Gai Tod (Chicken wings) are a must order as well. Super crispy and not oily at all, with a Deliciously spicy dipping sauce. For the main dish, Padthai with chicken. Hands down the best I've had in Arizona. Be sure to make a reservation or get there right when they open as they fill up almost immediately.
Absolutely! So good. We wanted to try so many more options. Will definitely be back. We got four different things on the menu and split everything just to be able to try everything. Very small. Try to make a reservation. We ended up having to wait an hour and 30 minutes. However, they also have a place that you can go nearby that has wine and beers as well as games to pass the time.
Super authentic, flavorful Thai street food dishes. Drinks are tasty too! Parking is a challenge so you might wanna call a Waymo. They take walk ins - you might wait a bit, but it’s so worth the wait! Really enjoyed our dining experience and looking forward to returning soon.
Having come from NYC is search of Asian food on my trip I am glad to say I’ve found a place I can go back to. Only got two dishes here but would highly recommend the pork skewers. The soup part of the Kao Soi was delicious but the noodles needed work — they felt like the generic noodles, not bad and not mind blowing.
