I found this place a few years back but just never made it in. Last night we decided to celebrate our 28th anniversary here. I'm so glad with my choice. Everything we ordered last night was great. I ordered the jerk pork over polenta... prefect! Pepper shrimp a must try, drink menu phenominal! I tried almost everything everyone ordered. We're all family! The mojito on point, punch rum bowl of the day... yum! Pina colada, Bootleg Smitty, rum old fashion all very good. Of course we tried a rum flight (Spanish). We started in the dining area due to a few unforeseeable mishaps we moved our party of 6 outside to the front patio for or meal. Ended the night in the back patio with our rum flight and cigar. Thank you so vey much for the amazing and unforgettable 1st time experience. Our server by the way was pretty awesome hats off to you Isaac G. We were definitely movers last night and you kept up with us all. Until next time...

Breadfruit and Rum Bar is one of my favorite restaurants/bars in downtown Phoenix. Their food is always great, I can't find food like it anywhere else in the Valley. I strongly recommend to have the scallops; best scallops I've had. Before coming to Rum Bar, thought I didn't like rum, but the bartenders helped me realize that rum is much more complex than just Bacardi. I've been regularly coming to Breadfruit and Rum Bar for about 2 months now, and they never disappoint.

This place is one of the best in Phoenix. Their food is amazing and there's options for anyone, even people who don't like seafood. Also, cocktails from the time bar are A+.

One of the better dining experience I've had recently. Our waiter, Isaac, was very knowledgeable about the menu and cocktail list and gave excellent pairing recommendations. Everything my girlfriend and I had was exquisite. The food is Caribbean inspired and a lot of it is locally sourced, which I appreciate. The cocktails are designed to be paired with the food, which was the cheery on top for me. The prices are reasonable and the dining room has a nice ambiance.

Best Rum drinks I've had anywhere along my travels! Creative combinations, excellent presentations and a wonderful experience for the taste buds!! 🍸🍹💜 Staff were professional and helpful. My only two comments of improvement - the staff could be a bit friendlier - would've been nice to know about the hidden patio/smoke lounge out back before our last drink ;)

As a cigar smoker and fine food enthusiast this place meets all my needs. The food is exceptional, the drink selection is top shelf. No matter what the punch special is of the night order it. Then finish it off with a cigar and drink on the back patio. Better yet come in directly to the back patio grab a cigar and drink then eat dinner and grab another cigar!

In preparation for my short visit to Phoenix I was researching various dinner options. I came across the Breadfruit & Rum Bar and decided it was worth taking a shot. I wasn't disappointed - the food was flatout amazing and of great quality! I had the rum-glazed shrimp on roti bread along with a jamaican Jerk Chicken Salad - mouthwatering to say the least! Of course, as the name suggests they have a huge selection of Rum. If you're looking for the mainstream Bacardi & Coke this might not be the right place for you. If however you appreciate the "real" rum than this is a must-visit for you. The barkeeper is very friendly and knowledgible and will give you a full tour through the world of rum if you're interested. The mellow Reggae tunes playing from the stereo round out the Carribean feeling in desert surroundings. Two thumbs up!

Great little find in downtown Phoenix where there is little surrounding the nice hotels. This restaurant has a Jamaican feel. The service is knowledgable and attentive. They have hundreds of rum liquor and excellent food. The decor is cozy, with in and outdoor seating. They give you a postcard to mail anywhere in the U.S. Very thoughtful, quality dinning.

This was some of the best food I've ever had. Prices were fare, service was good and informative, and I would still come back here if those things weren't true because the food and drinks were that good. I had a mojito (that was to die for) and my boyfriend had a rum old fashioned (since he usually gets a whiskey old fashion, but is considering changing his signature cocktail to this after today). To eat, we shared the prawns, an apple and coconut?? Soup of the day and also the slow braised pork dish. All were amazing and we were surprised that the soup was actually the star of them all if there even was a differentiating line of goodness between them all. We will be back!!

A rum bar and upscale Jamaican restaurant, this was a good experience. Cons: -Small venue that was popular; reservations highly recommended if you want a table -Noisy! There is no real sound dampening. At half full it was difficult to converse. When full, it was implausible. I recommend reserving an outdoor table if the weather permits. Pros: -Excellent food with good plating, balance of flavors, and focus on sourcing. -Excellent drinks and cocktails. Don't bother with beer or wine and order a mixed drink. -Friendly, attentive, and polite service.
