Review Hillstone - Phoenix

Love this place! We stopped in without a reservation so there was an hour wait for the dining area but thankfully they offer a smaller menu on the patio if you chose to wait or the full menu at the bar. The bartenders were super friendly and provided great suggestions on the menu. The sushi was super fresh and the wood fired chicken was super juicy and flavorful!

I had a perfectly wonderful evening here, a friend who lives in Phoenix recommended. I found the staff absolutely delightful and kind, though the clientele and design was a bit stuffy for what I can only describe as somewhat blasé cuisine. We had the artichoke dip (standard - nothing unique) and some sushi (delightful but the rice was oddly crispy and much too large for one bite) and for my main dish I had a Thai salad which was just lumped as one big plate, lacking any presentation. If you want GREAT food - you should go elsewhere. If you want a nice evening and are fine with a standard, upscale environment, Hillstone will pass the test.

New favorite place, lots of good options. Other than the fries being average at best everything else was real good. Highly recommend the BBQ Pork Ribs, which are apparently from Denmark, and the sushi. All my friends said they liked their food.

I was definitely pleased with the service and atmosphere. Hillstone is an upscale yet affordable location for lunch and dinner, accompanied by drinks and conversation. Their menu is rather interesting, though. I thought they would have more variety, although I was still satisfied with their options. I'm simply only being constructive. I found it interesting that they did not have ranch, truffle oil, truffle butter, biscotti for my espresso, and port wine as an after dinner drink.

Great atmosphere and although we ate inside they had a patio for outside eating that will definitely be on the list next time. Spinach dip was fantastic and you have to get the hot fudge sundae

The atmosphere and service was amazing and the best service I have ever received! New favorite resturant and can't wait to try more of the dishes that they offer. I was excited to try the grilled artichoke appetizer but it was out of stock on this visit. We got the brussles instead and they were delicious. Different from other resturants as they boiled the sprouts but they were seasoned well. The cocktails were very good, the margarita was a little bitter but good overall. The dirty Martini was one of the better ones I have had at a resturant/bar. The server noticed my glass got warm before I finished my drink and she brought me a cold glass to freshen my drink, it was fantastic service! The salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The side of broccoli wasn't great, very over cooked. My husband really enjoyed the French dip it was seasoned well, very tender meat and yummy fries. The sushi was good, very fresh.

We really enjoyed Hillstone, we dined with @dukegolfrealty. Thank you so much Duke for having dinner with us. The ambiance was very chill/relaxing. The food was good, E had a taste for seafood so she got the Salmon Salad and really enjoyed the salmon which was really delicious. J ordered the Southern Style Brussel Sprouts and loved the lemon aioli. She also had the Cucumber and Avocado Roll which was a different type of sushi and very good. The service was good as well. The smell, OMG! The smell of the baby back ribs is what we a looking forward to going back to Hillstone. We really hope that they are as good as they smell.

The food at Hillstone is always consistently fresh and excellent. I love this restaurant! Asian Noodle salad is consistently EXCELLENT!!! Hubby had Salmon with broccoli.

I love Hillstone. Anytime I’m in Phoenix I go to Hillstone every time as many times as I can. I also visit their location in Denver. Amazing atmosphere and great selection of food. The services are exceptional.

First time at Hillstone! Heard a lot about it and it met all expectations. Amazing ambience and food

So, I'm kind of getting tired of trying to take pictures of food while I'm eating. It just seems disrespectful anymore. But the food was good here, the service was great, but the woman that was in charge of seating, however, was not. I've met some snooty people in my life, and this woman was up there. Service was friendly staff seemed to be happy put off a good atmosphere. But the lady in charge of seating is just rude. And we called and asked about reservations we were told to come down and a reservation for not needed but then we sat in line for an hour. Really would have liked to have made a reservation and just had my seat ready. Great fireplace outside great food and is 3 1/2, 4 out of 5. Service I would put in the same category. Is the lady in charge of seating, 🤷‍♂️

It's really a great restaurant all around.

Our favorite restaurant! The artichoke is a must try, we share it and the french dip. Plenty of food for two people. Service is always excellent and ambience perfect. Make reservations or you may have an hour wait.

Great food, great service every time. You pay for the quality here, but you know you're going to get a great meal. I love the chicken with mashed potatoes, but you can't go wrong here. Make sure to get the hot fudge sundae for dessert. Best I've ever had.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon. Walked in, greeted nicely by staff and server was nice. The food was better than I expected. The bill came out to $100 for 2 people. We got the Hawaiian ribeye and Carolina beef ribs. Also got a side of mashed potatoes. Very good. Expect to pay between $35-50 per person. A bit expensive but food is good, service is good, will return

Great customer service. If you arrive a little early for lunch, you can usually get a seat in the bar area. The French dip is excellent.

Amazing atmosphere with a superb staff and service!!the food was also great in the way it was plated as well as in taste!! Our server was also very knowledgeable and informative when she was told that someone in our group was completely gluten and grain free and made sure the cooks were aware of it to not cross contaminate food. Also made accommodations to substitute food that came with the meal. Can’t wait to go back!

My Fav. Place ever .. service is amazing but the food wow!! The filet is by far the best I've ever had , wine is amazing love Mi Sueno . This is my place to go to be happy 😊. Now it's cool outside , sit on patio and enjoy the ambience before dinner , but Hillstone please bring back the blue cheese stuffed olives for the martinis !!!!!

My adult children and I ate here for our Easter dinner. Not our first time, we all ordered the Hawaiian steak, absolutely amazing, as always, the food is never in question. However, a special shout out needs to go to our waitress, “Kristina with a K”. Despite being a busy night for them, she took the time to answer our off the wall questions. Such as, “Why do the two chefs have ridiculously tall chefs hat?” (For aesthetics at Hillstone, but traditionally, the taller the hat, the more skill they have) and “Why are there Quails on the menu?” (Each menu at Hillstone features something local and they are on the drink napkins too!). A simple Google search showed the Hillstone in Texas had a road runner on it. She was patient and entertaining throughout our meal, if she didn’t know the answer, she happily went to find out. We always highly recommend Hillstone, but we especially appreciated our visit on Easter.

Whenever I am in Phoenix I make a point to dine at Hillstone. This time I had the Kale, Grilled chicken with cashews salad and was divine! A healthy yet flavorful salad that will surely be my new favorite!

Exceptional service, food and drinks are always top shelf. If you want the best this is the place to go.

The ribeye is absolutely amazing! Our server Blake is one of the best I've ever encountered and made the experience even better.

Well, we went on a valentine night as expected the wait was long but then comes the excellent service and mouth watering food , because we didn’t know which wine to drink they had us tried 4 different flavors . Awesome 👏 . I would like to go back on a slower time .

The salmon, filet, ribs, and Hillstone burger are all things I can speak for - and they are all outstanding! The tuna mango roll turned me into a sushi lover. Love dining here. It’s a great place to take a close friend, a date, a client, or even a small group of family or friends. Not good for larger parties (more than 5-6). Nice to dress up and enjoy a high quality dining and service experience. The food quality and service keep me coming back!!!

I've dined here several times in the past and it has always been wonderful. This past Saturday night was not one of those times. The med rare prime rib was way over cooked. Our server did not seem to know how to take an order. For whatever reason, it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation at our table (and hear each other) between the 4 of us dining. The restaurant and ambiance are exquisite but this visit was very sub-par.

Damn good. Myself and 1 other had the Hawaiian steak. A tastiky prepared, great cut of beef and cooked exactly as ordered. Strong bourbon selection. Service was equally as impressive-very professional, from how we were greeted, the bartender and Miranda who waited on us all left us with the impression that our choice to dine here was truly appreciated.

This is one of our favorite chains, old Houston’s. The cobbler is a centerpiece, too bad is so seasonal. Food is always good, trout, chicken salad and French dip sandwich. This time the meet in the sandwich was so red and undercooked that I did not enjoyed it so much. Service was okay but not special.

Fantastic food. Sushi is unbelievable and the crispy chic sandwich with coleslaw is the best.

Amazing dinner. Service was also amazing. We've been there three times and we will keep going back. We went for our anniversary tonight. No better place to celebrate 28 years
