Best soul food in Philadelphia. Best soul food north of the Mason-Dixon. Be prepared to wait (I always call in with my order), but it is well worth it. Everything is amazing (fried chicken duh) but the corn bread is legendary (and sells out fast).

Pros: Very good soul food. Honestly, this was some of the best soul food I’ve had in a while. I ordered the turkey wings platter with Mac and Cheese with Cabbage. Everything was finger licking good. The portions are generous! I appreciate the amounts she gave. I had some left over for the next day. Cons: Just for transparency. The wait is long. I ordered 2 hours in advance. It wasn’t an issue for me since I planned it out that way. So order ahead. Overall 5 stars because she is a beast in the kitchen and the food was amazing!

If we’re just basing the rankings off of the food then I would give it 5 stars. The food is really great here but the service isn’t what I would say bad but the wait times are so long because it’s literally a one person establishment. You have the option to call ahead but I think calling ahead is pointless since the food won’t be prepared until you’re there anyway. Didn’t want to give 3 stars because of the wait time since the food is extremely good. Guess it takes time to prepare good dishes, would recommend if yu want a good meal but wouldn’t recommend if your are pressed for time

Great food.Remember soul food is not fast foods, for me it always worth the wait. Ms. Francis make you feel like family. I have been eating here for more than 20 years,

Best soul food in the city of Philadelphia... bar none! Have patience - fresh & delicious soul food isn't fast food, and when you come here, it's worth the wait and the portions. Hope you enjoy!

We have been enjoying the food at Drbreaux's for many years. For Easter we decided to gett some platters here instead of cooking. Once again we were not disappointed. Everything was absolutely delicious. Be prepared to have plenty to enjoy for later because you definitely will get your money's worth. Mom wants to come back for Mother's day.
