If you want delicious baked goods and true old world charm you MUST stop in here. I have been a customer for 40 years, ever since I made runs for my Nonna. You will always be greeted with a smile and some positive words. The seeded braided rolls seen in the picture are second to none. I always buy two because one is finished before the pot of gravy. The tomato pie is another great buy. They are a huge hit in my office, I usually buy 15-20 and share with my awesome co-workers. Don't forget to get a couple "white" which is basically a delicious pizza dough covered it oil, garlic and spices. Don't take my word for it, stop in and spend $2, what do you have to lose. Just the positive energy you will receive is worth that!
I love this place I'm a daily customer here i grab 12 rolls and 4 tomato pies. The best freshest bread you can find in south philly. Also their tomato pie is the best, nice soft airy dough and a slight crisp on the bottom with one of the best tasting sauce ever (dont tell my wife i said that...) just add cheese and you have the best pizza in S.Philly. Why buy pizza at the Pizzaria anymore when you can get fresher dough and better product from your local bakery at a cheaper price what more can you ask for, but wait there's more you'll be greeted by the most nicest positive guy ever that treats you like family. Just bought the large loaf of braded Italian bread! It was delicious and went well with the home made macaroni and home made gravy that my girlfriend and partner, Vicky made!
It doesn't get any better than that!! Living in Delaware, it's impossible to get a great tasting real loaf of Italian bread, so Villari Brothers is not too far to drive for the best!!
