So I Typically order the tofu hoagie from Tais which is amazing and I've gotten many friends hooked on it, but I thought that I should try their tofu veggie pho and see how I like it.
First of all, it was arguably the best noodle soup I have ever had. Full of tofu, cabbage, bell pepper, onion, and broccoli, as well as the add on sauces, lemon, and Thai basil, it was super filling and made me wish I had more.
The broth is light but flavorful and the Thai basil had a bit of an anise and minty flavor go it, but when I added the tomato sauce/base to the soup, the Thai basil became spicy almost.
So this dish is one that will fill you up and repeatedly change flavors

Love the hoagies, its much cheaper compare to other places in south philly. Great location since its right in Temple University campus. Really exciting to see a Vietnamese food court here.
The best damn grilled Chicken Pho in the city of Philadelphia. I graduated 3 years ago and I still crave this soup . Nobody in Philly makes a better bowl

Fantastic pho !!! If you’re in the Temple campus area make sure you stop and get a hot bowl of Pho
Good food, very very affordable prices and nice staff. I love ordering with the older lady who is really friendly, but a bit strict at times 🦉 (like my grandma used to be). The food is always warm and the flavors are amazing. A must try for vegetarians. Btw, they can customize most of their dishes to replace the meats with tofu.
First time here at Tai's Viet Food. I ordered the pork hoagie and it was at a reasonable price. Good staff and have my expectation high. The hoagie was good, but I was expecting a bit more filling and less char.
This, being my first Vietnamese experience, is what I compare all others to. Though I can't speak for their pho (as I've never had it), I can definitely say that their rice and rice vermicelli dishes are the best in the city for the price. My go to dish is the double chicken vermicelli bun with spring rolls (which isn't on the menu, I just ask for it). I've also had the sweet and sour soup, which is utterly amazing (it has pineapple) and the Vietnamese style sweet and sour chicken (with rice, fresh green peppers and an amazing S&S sauce). If you call ahead, the service is as quick as you need it to be, and if you like sweet tea, theirs is the sweetest.
The menu is extremely diverse and I haven't had a regretful dish yet.
Fantastic food, really nice staff. Large portion sizes, fast service. Love the vegetarian options! General tso tofu is fantastic.
Always top quality food. One of my go-to's on campus
One of the things I miss most since graduating from Temple
