We got there an hour after they opened and they were sold out of almost everything. I was not surprised or upset. Still got an order of Korean wings and a Brisket Cheesesteak. Top Tier BBQ, just need to order online next time

Wow. I haven't had much bbq, but this Best of Philly BBQ lives up to the hype. We got the brisket sandwich, the Japanese McRib special, banana pudding, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The brisket is so tender and smokey, crusted with a thick layer of black pepper and spices. Salty with a little kick. I used the mild bbq sauce which is sweet and tangy. It perfectly compliments the salty/peppery/ smoky beef and the acidic slaw . Spicy bbq sauce also came with it. It comes on a super fresh Conshy roll that is strong enough to hold every thing together. Far too often I've gotten sandwiches on round rolls that are not fresh. It makes a big difference. And then there's the banana pudding. It tasted unlike any other banana pudding I've had. This is the real deal. The pudding is custardy and creamy. On top is salted caramel, which is executed to perfection, along with sliced bananas and softened wafers at the bottom. A top tier banana pudding. Mac and cheese and cornbread are solid sides. Overall, this is a top tier restaurant in Philly.

Hands down some of the best food I've ever had. HIGHLY recommend to BBQ lovers ! The brisket is tender and full of flavor, and The mac and cheese is AMAZING. I love the fact they use cooper sharp as their cheese 🧀 of choice. It adds that extra bit of flavor that puts these menu items over the top. The wings are cooked perfectly, with great sauce flavors. Oh and they make their own potato chips !
If you like 1 of a kind sauces, you gotta try some of the gritty sauce. Chefs kiss 🤌

Came here to try the much heralded brisket cheesesteak.
Fantastic sandwich. I thought it'd taste like a cheesesteak with better meat, but it didn't have that vibe. Tasted like a brisket sandwich with cheese.
Not a bad thing, surely. 8/10 sandwich. Could have dispersed the cheese a bit better versus putting the entirety on top.

Went here on a food tour of the city. Probably the best place we tried all day. The brisket cheesesteak was amazing and the Korean BBQ wings has great flavor. The sides were good but the best part was the banana pudding for dessert. Insanely good. Definitely worth a stop.

Just came back from the Mike's BBQ.
Everything is perfect. Everyone is just so nice. We ordered Brisket, rib and banana pudding. All is perfect. 5 star recommend. Definitely will refer to my friend.

We ordered the Korean wings, smoked brisket cheesesteak, and slaw. The cheesesteak was great! Next time I want to try the brisket on its own. The Korean wings tasted asian, but more like hoisin sauce which isn't Korean. Slaw was very tangy and worked well in between bites of the rest of the food.

A great barbecue destination in Philly! Everything that we tried was excellent! The brisket is one of the best I ever had!

Probably the best bbq place I’ve eaten at. Or at least one of the best and I’ve been all over. The brisket Cheadle steak is an amazing take on the Philly Cheese steak. I also had the pork which is hand down the best! I saw the ribs but didn’t get to try (next time) they looked awesome.

Mike’s BBQ is always A+. This was from a recent meal with family, but I have ordered takeout many times and am never disappointed. The brisket and the ribs are my go-tos and as some other reviewers have mentioned, do not sleep on the banana pudding!!

This is the best BBQ restaurant. There is street parking. The menu is always changing. You can order ahead or sit down there and eat

Mike's is a great place for BBQ. We've been there twice and both times the meat is fantastic. The pork belly is so tender whilst the skin is super crispy, you need this belly in your belly. The rub on the ribs is a great combination of flavors. We loved the gouda in the mac & cheese. We also got the mac stuffed sausage called the Philly Phatty that was made by Jason Kelce. You need to get here, but get there early because they sell out every single day. Once you taste it you'll understand why. You will not be disappointed.

Mike’s bbq open Wed-Sun 12Noon Till they sells out. On the weekends they sell out quickly depends sometimes sold out by 3-4pm. My fave to get there are cheesesteak brisket extra extra Cooper sharp cheese sauce for me. I’m not exaggerating when I said extra extra cheese either! Get that and thank me later. I also order brisket(this is the closest I can eat of a Texas bbq), beef ribs(special order them), pork belly( during weekends only omgggg it’s so crunchy but there’s also meat), smoked wings are amazingly good! Mike Strauss is the pit master of Mike’s bbq. The staff is very friendly. Don’t forget to get their banana q pudding! U will be head over heels with this. Order extra 3-4 because you won’t want to share😍😍

New to Philly and was lucky enough to experience this gem. The food is hands down the best bbq I’ve had. The atmosphere is laid back with great service. 10/10 recommend.

First time, definitely will be a second time. Got the brisket, ribs, pulled pork and fried pork belly. Along with mac and cheese, pickles and cornbread. Everything was great! I had heard that the brisket was really good. I think that's an understatement. Probably the best I've had. They are a BYOB, but if you forget your beer they will give you a complementary Miller high Life. It was the like the cherry on top.

I went full Noah's Ark and ordered an order of every meat on the menu. Did not regret a single thing, but I should've gotten more brisket and asked if they served the wing sauce in a cup to wash it all down. 10/10 easily. Sure they sell out of some items but that's the nature of BBQ, dont sleep on the brisket cheese steak, or the wings, or the fried Mac and cheese balls!!!!

A little bit of southern and a little bit of Philly. Mike has set the standard for BBQ in Philly. I've ate my way through the menu Ina few visits and can't say a bad thing about any of the food-- you can't go wrong. The Brisket Philly Cheesesteak is solid for a gut-buster meal.

Small joint however the service & food were delicious 😋!!! Everything we tried brisket, ribs, mac & cheese with Gouda, cornbread and smoked wings were very tasty and full of yum yum flavor 😋. We drove from Hamilton NJ and was not disappointed. Mike is very personable and make the environment feel like everybody is family! We will return before football season and I will wear my Steelers sparkly shirt again 😊!
Thanks Mike & staff 👍🏽

The ribs are to live for!! They are mouthwatering, flavorful, tasty & very tender. The BEST RIBS & sauces EVER!!
Also tried the Smoked Korean Wings, Gouda Mac-n-Cheese, the Collard Greens and Potato Salad - ALL of these dishes were delicious too!!
Tried all of their sauces and found my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ~ the Vinegar Pepper sauce!
We will now be driving the two hours from Baltimore to get these ribs!! 🙀🙌🚙🚘🚲🛴🛵⛽😍

Mike's BBQ is a hidden gem tucked away near the intersection of 11th and Morris in South Philadelphia. This is by far the best BBQ I've had in Philadelphia. I stopped in between lunch and dinner (2:00 in the afternoon or so). Everything came out quickly. I tried their brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage, corn bread, and mac & cheese. Everything was exceptional, but especially the brisket. Good lord that brisket. I barely needed teeth it was so perfectly tender. I'm not even going to comment on the burnt ends, because I have no words...
Go there and try it out! You will not be disappointed!

Ever walk into a place and your mind is already going, “yes, Yes, YES!!!”??? This is what it’s like when you come up to the door of Mike’s BBQ! The delicious aromatic smokiness wafts in your face and you know you’re in for a treat. Picked up 1 1/2 lbs of wings and sides of Mac & cheese and collards. First off, Everything has amazing flavor. The wings were sweet and lightly salted; tender chicken bathed in a wonderful rub. The Mac & Cheese was thick and delicious; I believe it was melted Gouda cheese but I may be wrong. Either way, get some. Can’t wait to try the brisket cheesesteak next!

I came in today and was absolutely blown away! First, the service was friendly and very quick (I had a to go order). Second, the food was absolutely out of this world. The burnt ends wrapped in bacon were a great size and outstanding! Jerked Chicken Wings were a perfect combo of sweet and spicy (some of the best I've ever had). The brisket was the most tender I have ever encountered! Finally, the crispy pork belly was insanely good and crunchy! Keep up the great work!! I'll definitely be back!

Brisket to die for in a delicious roll with great cheese. Onions. Just perfect. Mac n cheese is great. And I really do not like Mac n cheese. But I ate every last bit. Collard greens are hard to find this good. Just hearty. Then slaw so satisfying. Lol. Go and enjoy. Get a root beer. Sit under fans. And chill. And playing great music as my daughter says.
