Been to this bar a couple of times when visiting Philly. Really enjoyed each visit. If you enjoy a piano bar, this one is really nice. The drinks are good, and when I was there, the piano was wonderful. Terrific piano player, who had a lot of music books for people to choose from if they wanted to exercise their pipes. The player was great, and had a terrific voice and style. A very good song stylist. Drinks are good, and the bartenders attentive and quick. There is a restaurant downstairs (reachable from separate entrance from the street) that was excellent! And if you're lucky enough to have John as your waiter, it's even nicer. I'd highly recommend the Lo Mein dish! Overall, a very fun place to spend an evening!

Had a great experience at this tavern. The live piano was a nice touch. Blueberry Lemonade cocktail was delicious 😋 Deviled Eggs were yummy. It was the perfect casual, yet sophisticated, place for conversation over an adult beverage.

This is my favorite place in center city. Friendly bartenders, good prices. And loads of free entertainment. Even the mayor elect loves it here!

Tavern is my favorite gay bar in town. I feel safer here than any others in the area. My girlfriend and I always have a great time. Plus they do line dancing upstairs once a week. It’s the best!

A staple of the Philly gay community and one of the best places to gather and to meet new people. The Piano Bar is fantastic (especially when Max is playing - go see him on Tuesday nights after 9). There’s one or two piano players I don’t care for - they don’t know even basic show tunes; IMO, a pre-requisite for a gay piano bar…you need to have, at least, a few Sondheim & Jerry Herman hits in your repertoire. Don’t sleep on the restaurant on the bottom level! Very cozy, attentive & friendly service, and really good, uncomplicated food. A hidden gem, especially for a cute little date night in the gayborhood.

Definitely a fine place to have a cold drink and watch a big screen tv. We've been there so often over the past two years. They have a piano bar upstairs. Great atmosphere and awesome service. Their food is absolutely delicious. We usually go to the downstairs bar. Clean bathroom. It is located in the gayborhood. But so many straight people go there as well. Definitely a place where we typically end up in conversation with someone. It has a friendly vibe and is very safe. I highly recommend this establishment. You've got to try this place.

Wonderful piano bar! The drinks are incredible and the service was superb. The pianists and singers also added a wonderful sound to the atmosphere.

Cute little stop. Full of history. But the speakers sound awful and the piano is pretty badly out of tune (though Grant did his best to make up for it - definitely 5 stars for Grant)

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Philly about 15 years ago. A lot has changed but I still had so much fun. The piano players are extremely talented and so were majority of the singers that volunteered. Upstairs is great if you want a dance break. The bartenders are friendly and quick. The rest of the staff are also friendly and professional. Missed this place and can't wait to come back!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! There are three different floors with three totally different vibes. It's pretty much a one stop shop. It's also on a street that cars don't drive on, so you can spill out safely. Definitely a must every time I visit Philly! Great food and drinks! Excellent piano bar! Fantastic dance floor/club! ...go visit, you'll thank yourself for it ;P
