This is a really cute little spot just south of center city. I’ve never been to another place like it, everything is served in little Jars. Some things are meant to be eaten right out of the jar, while others are actually meant to be cooked in the jar it’s sold in, very cool concept. I only got a couple of cookies in a jar to go, and they were super soft and chewy, would definitely recommend. I also am looking forward to picking up a cake in a jar for later.
Every single item from the Baker's Jar has been delicious and I've been lucky enough to have lots of them! If you're traveling a long distance with the jar then the carrot cake is my favorite, but if you're eating there or can keep it in the fridge then you have to try the tres leches or lemon pie. And whatever you do, do not miss an opportunity to get the key lime pie when it's in season!
The Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia truly lucked out with this gem. The Baker's Jar owner Avery Goldman hit a home run with this brilliant bakery concept. She serves up a fresh new take on family favorites like chocolate cake, carrot cake, banana cake, birthday cake, dulche de leche and tres leches. Each delicacy is baked and served in a mason jar, making it the perfect dessert. The chocolate flavors are rich and indulgent, while some of the seasonal fruit options -- like berry crumb, key lime pie and lemon pie -- are refreshing and utterly impeccable.
Not a sweets fan? This bakery also provides La Colombe coffee, teas, sodas, juices, and even supports local companies by stocking vegan muffins (Philly Bread Company) and a wide array of preserves (Green Aisle Grocery).
Best of all, you can take your baker's jars just about anywhere -- the beach, the game, a friend's party -- and never have to worry about crumbs. The mason jar concept is also brilliant because you don't have to finish your baked good in one sitting, as it will stay fresh in the fridge.
Really looking forward to some of the fall and winter flavors that will become available!
If you're heading to Philly soon, definitely check out The Baker's Jar -- your taste buds will be thoroughly satiated!
I work nearby and a visit to the Baker's Jar helps me start the day with friendly conversation, coffee and jar of happiness. A bakery with a small town atmosphere. Totally recommend it!
I think by now, we have tried everything in the shop. Essentially, you can't go wrong with any one of the tasty treats. Just so happens, they come in a cool little jar, so they travel well!
A nifty glass jar of baked goodness at more than a reasonable price. Flavors to satisfy any pallet. I love the wooden spoons.

The baked items she puts in jars are not necessarily huge size but they're filling. It's really cool looking packaging.
Smells great, tastes great! Whoa. Two dollars for one cookie? I guess I'll only bring my kids here one at a time.
My first time here from my roommates recommendation and I will be back frequently! Very good and such a cute shop.
Lovely desserts in jars! So good. So much fun.
