Function Coffee Labs is a real gem! Staff was friendly and you could tell they enjoyed working together behind the bar with passion for quality product and great service. The anaerobic geisha was outstanding on espresso. We enjoyed our pour overs - the Colombia pink bourbon and the Ethiopia ardi natural. Highly recommend for both the snobbiest of snobs (me) and anyone looking for a caffeine boost (normal people). Either way, Function has everything you need- great atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, delicious drinks, delectable food (didn’t have any but it looked amazing), and most importantly: great service. Will certainly go back next time we are in town !

Excellent neighborhood coffee destination with a laid back vibe and an interesting selection of drinks.
The self-service milk and sweetener station had my personal favorites — oat milk and simple syrup. Love to see a place that has both.
I tried the iced Costa Rica Las Lajas Perla Negra pour-over this time around, it had a complex flavor and the strength level was nice. Next time I'm thinking I'll go for the espresso.

Cortado was very aromatic and flavorful. The staff were very friendly and the shop was cozy.

Amazing coffee. Loved the pour over so much, I purchased beans to take home! Staff-blah-not friendly. Not social.

On a grey, gloomy day, what's the best thing to wake you up, good espresso, followed by a creamy latte, at a local cafe!!!

Super cute coffee shop that is serious about their coffee (not in a snobby way) and it shows in their quality. Possibly the best gingerbread latte I’ve ever had. Friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Such a wonderful little coffee shop! The menu has a great selection and the sourdough cinnamon bun had the tastiest frosting. There are a few seats inside and outside. My boyfriend also enjoyed the oat bar. The cinnamon buns are not heated up (but still tasted good cold).

Such a vibey coffee shop. The staff were very friendly and helpful with selections. I had the seasonal cardamom caramel latte and it was delicious

Cute little coffee shop. Great, relax atmosphere and the baristas and staffs are friendly!
I enjoyed the espresso I got here, but they're not your traditional Italian style espresso. By the time I got there, there were not a lot of pastries left, but definitely something on my list the next visit.
I do want to give the feedback that the store seems cluttered and the glassware are a stained. They were clean but perhaps some cafiza is needed. Also, not sure why old machines and boxes are out and in area where they are displaying the coffee beans.

Lavendar Latte $5 was good. Strong lavender flavor.
There are a couple window bar seats and three small tables inside. There are also tables outside for nice days.

Especially friendly staff who greeted me with a genuine smile 😃 Better and more unique food options than most local coffeeshops and really tasty coffee on par with the top two or three coffeeshops on my list. I visit many different coffeeshops in Philadelphia and Function has a uniquely pleasant neighborhood feel. The staff is unusually committed to making delicious and visually impressive drinks for their customers. One of the staff actually apologized to a customer because the latte art wasn't the best she's ever done. Very sweet.

I've sampled their lattes, house blend drip coffe, cinammon buns and banana nut muffins so far. All were delicious! The service is friendly and helpful. I visited with a coworker from Spain, and she was impressed with the artistry of their cortado coffee preparation. There's some outdoor seating around Function and there's Bardascino Park seating if it's busy.
Come after 8:15 if you want a pastry--that's when the delivery comes from their other location. Highly recommend a visit if you are a gourmet coffee and pastry enthusiast.

The Pastries are amazing ! Go here if you want some bold , smooth and flavorful coffee. Their coffee is bold but not acidic. Their Cortado was blissful
Cool vibes in there as well

I come here whenever I visit Philly. The buttery and flaky croissants are made with sourdough and the flavor really comes through. I get the butter croissant when I want the sourdough aspects to shine. The togarashi leek is equally delicious and is my other go to. Unfortunately the cruffins (croissant muffins) are no longer available. They seem to have been replaced with bronuts (brioche donuts) which are not my thing. The drip coffee is good and espresso drinks are well made with quality beans.

Worth the trip! I've been wanting to try for a while, but don't live in the area. My cortado and savory danish were definitely worth the trip. Espresso was very smooth with a little bit of sweetness. And the sourdough adds a bit of a twist to the spinach and artichoke Danish. Will definitely be going back for croissants and barista specials (I regret not trying the French Toast latte, but a cortado is my standard to try at coffee shops).

Friendly staff, cozy space and wide variety flavors and coffee types. Iced mocha is delicious if you’re into those!

Went to a private cupping class yesterday evening with Curtis and had the BEST time! Not only was he super knowledgeable and entertaining, the class itself was fun and engaging. If we didn’t think we were coffee nerds beforehand, we definitely are now!

Absolute gem!! In a bustling city, coming across coffee shop with great service, incredible bites and even better coffee is a must! Be sure to try the cinnamon roll! You will not be disappointed!
