Primo Hoagies is definitely primo for hoagies! Having spent the summers of my youth on LBI, I’ve long believed hoagies are at the top of the sub sandwich category… so when we moved to Philly, I looked forward to great hoagies everywhere. But after place after place let me down, finally Primo delivered. Just all around good, can’t wait to try more of their varieties!
Not fancy but not frivolous. If you’re going to indulge a decadent predilection for prosciutto— a taste which even my recent transition to flexitarianism hasn’t yet extinguished — you’ll want to do it here. At least, unless you know of a small area deli owned by an Italian American family. Good deli makes life worth living.
The food is good, but the stuff is not really kind here.
We have an office near by and often use Primos catering for our work events. Recently, I scheduled a delivery for a work event due to start at 12pm. The delivery arrived at 11:15 (15 min ahead of scheduled delivery time) but I realized that I had only ordered 1 tray when I needed 2. I ran over to Primos and explained to them I accidentally ordered 1 tray which would not be enough and would they be able make me just a couple extra sandwiches by 12. They went above and beyond to quickly make me a small tray when they obviously already had a lot on their plates. Quick, delicious, and the team always goes above and beyond.
My friend and I went here because you can't go to Philly without trying a cheese steak. I ordered just a plain cheese steak with provolone and American cheese and ketchup on a seeded roll. It was PHENOMENAL! The steak was so lean and super tasty. The bread was the freshest bread I've ever had and it was delicious! I really hope they put one by me, but then again I don't because I'll always be there. I highly recommend this place! Just be sure to check your receipt because I was overcharged for a drink. Other than that, amazing experience! I wish I took a picture.

On to the next one, this was my final Philly cheesesteak experience during my trip to Philadelphia. I am happy that I came here because this was the best Philly cheesesteak I had!
The cheesesteak I ordered was topped with provolone cheese and fired onions. I loved the sesame seed hoagie bun! It was fresh and toasted; it had the perfect crunch to it with every bite. The provolone cheese was all over, but it was all over in a good way. There was an even amount of cheese distributed throughout all 10” of the sandwich. The fried onions were cooked at a not so super crunchy state. I was incredibly happy that the fried onions were cooked better because the three other places I went to lightly cooked their fried onions at a crunchy state. I was beginning to think that was the norm. But PrimoHoagies cooked them just the way I like it!
PrimoHoagies also has exceptional customer service! I was hugely impressed with how kind the cashier and cook were to me. Both ladies Both ladies greeted me as I walked into the restaurant. Both were helpful with the menu. They did not try to rush me into ordering. They were both respectful and treated me right, and I appreciate that.
Because of both the delicious cheesesteak and the exceptional customer service here, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. The next time I am in Philadelphia, I will be sure to come here again. Thank you.
A nice place overall 😁 the cashier was nice, let me swap out my drink when I picked the wrong one. The only complaint I had is that the bread was a bit stale, but they sure gave is alot of meat for a medium Haha. Will definitely come back here again. The cashier even offered to wrap our sandwiches when she saw we didn't finish them and we were heading out :)
I was in Philly for a few hours and really wanted a good authentic cheesesteak. Their menu was a little confusing, so I didn't know what toppings were even available, so I ended up with just meat, cheese, and onions on bread. That being said, the meat and bread were both very good, but due to not having condiments, it was a little dry. I'd like to see a re-designed menu if I came back
Likely the best Turkey hoagie/sub I've ever had the pleasure of consuming, which I did with sheer delight. Phenomenal!
Loved the food and atmosphere! The customer service was excellent and they clearly are putting effort into their image and business practices, which says a lot. Loved my chicken cheesesteak and the many options I had for it, and hubby and our German exchange student raved about their beef cheesesteaks.
