We have been coming to this Sushi place for over 6 years. Our last visit we learned it was under new ownership and it has gotten even better! Since there was a bunch of new items on the menu we picked those to try and they did not disappoint. The new owner and chef even came over several times to chat with us. The Shrimp dumpling, Bao bun, and 3 specialty rolls were all flavorful and were almost too beautiful to eat! Need to stop in more often to try all the new additions to the menu.

I'm not sure when they changed management -- but good lord is it good! I had gone here a few years ago, and not so great. But now? First off, I'm a stickler for good service. I really dont care how good your food is, if your staff seem disinterested or "better than thou" -- then I vote with my money and never return. Not here! The younger kid at the door, the older gentleman who checked on our table twice; We ordered 3 of the lunch specials (I'm a big guy!) The older gentleman realized we had only gotten two miso soups at our table and so, unprompted, he let us know he had put an extra one in our to-go bag. Talk about service - the best when its unprompted! The food was spot on. Fresh sushi, rolls made well, miso soup w/ the mushrooms was a nice change of pace and both my wife and I loved our bento boxes. All in all -- nothing to complain about! Yes, a little pricey. But, it is sushi, so... ya know. You're gonna pay seafood prices. Go and enjoy!

Every dish is incredibly fresh, the sashimi melts in your mouth, and the tempura ice cream is especially delightful. It's truly a blessing to have such fresh seafood in operation in Philadelphia.

A delightful small restaurant experience. Only about 20 tables inside, doubling with the outdoor capacity under their tent. Each item is interestingly elevated. Rock shrimp has a smoked paprika flavor. Sweet potato roll has mango and other refreshing elements. Crab wonton was actual crab. Service was good, and a chef even came by to see if we were liking the food and talked to us about where some of our choices came from and how fresh it had been. The fish was delicious. Straight tuna and the amber jack were my favorites. A few pieces had the skin layer still which is just something I am personally unable to do so I ate around it. BYOB. A tight squeeze so may be a bit challenging for accessibility needs. Vibe: date night, catching up with a friend, elevated take out or delivery. Not fancy, just a level up. The only weird thing is that they serve bottled water for free. And while they charge for soft drinks and give free refills, all of those drinks are canned. I imagine their trash/recycling is pretty large. Can’t imagine getting a fountain system would not be cheaper in the long run. Going to an elevated sushi restaurant and getting a Kirkland bottle of water when you sit down is a bit strange. But the food and service are far too good to care about this.

Great place with good outdoor seating. The sushi was perfect and the miso soup and salmon teryaki were excellent as well. My father and I enjoyed it very much.

Booked a reservation about 2 hrs before and was seated immediately. It's a small restaurant with seating outdoors. Parking a little scarce and tight in the area. Served bottled water for those interested. Ordered rock shrimp tempura, edamame, amberjack, bluefin toro special, lava, vine and chicken teriyaki. If you love toro, get their special. Very smooth and fresh. Everything arrived pretty quickly considering how busy they were. Rolls were amazing and beautifully presented. Chicken teriyaki came with rice, asparagus and sweet potato fries. Chicken was on the dry side so we could have caught them on an off day. Owner/manager checked on us twice and provided mochi ice cream for the kids which was a wonderful gesture. Overall staff was friendly and food was excellent and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I got the Baltimore roll(main subject), the Hokkaido Uni special, and the spicy scallop roll. All were very good and extremely fresh. I've been here multiple times and every single time has been great. The only recommendation I would make for the summertime is find a way to make the AC a bit more effective. It's a bit too humid inside and I feel so bad for the employees walking in and out. Other than that, everything was great. The service was great, and I can't complain.

Love Sushi, traveled all over for work. Best Sushi in the neighborhood, and area in my opinion. Hikari is and has been our go to place since they've taken over several years ago. Thank you. The secret is somewhat out, but will always go. Nicest owner, family and staff. Go n judge for yourself. Must tries are Rock Shrimp, Crab Wonton, Spruncy.

Absolutely delicious sushi, great service, and cute little restaurant!! This was easily the best sushi we’ve had in Philly. Although all the rolls we ordered were great, highly recommend the Simi Roll and Dragon Roll.
