lots of choices I wouldn't go so far as to say that this is the best bakery or boba tea in town, but I will say that this is a Chinatown staple (probably cuz it's open later than most of its competitors). The bakeries are of OK quality and if you don't mind powder mixed boba drinks, then the drinks are OK too. For me, the bakeries are usually pretty good but the boba drinks are really hit or miss here. Unfortunately, today's was a miss (I'm not sure if it was rancid milk or what) but I decided that since I have a history with this place, not to write it off cuz of one bad drink. boba tea pastry pastry pastry Advertisement

2nd year getting the moon cakes for the Autumn Festival :) I am not Chinese or Asian at all but I embrace this holiday and the Chinese New Year!!!! The moon cakes in the plastic packaging with the egg are the best!

A sweet little bakery with so many treats to try. The sesame ball is one of my favorites, with a hint of red bean paste in the center. Most pastries are a ridiculously low price of $1.50. The hot milk tea is a brilliant concept -- Lipton tea brewed in hot milk.

Whenever I am craving a childhood delicacy, I head to bread top house. I love their pork buns, Dan tot, and bak tong goh (it’s a Chinese rice pudding thing). They are so friendly!!

I have been visiting this place since high school! 20 yrs later, happy to see it still exists. The taro bobba tea is made from real taro. It reminds me of fresh cake batter but not as sweet. It is deliciously filling. I usually take a few sips then wait til I've returned home ( or the hotel) and split the contents. I add hot water or hot black coffee and enjoy double the deliciousness. They also have a wide selection of Chinese moon pies. They had pretty good curry chicken buns and pies. Pastries are pretty good, not great. It's the taro bobba that keeps me going back! Fyi, they only take cash.

The owners and workers at this place are so nice, I put an order in for pickup and they had everything ready and were so kind. It’s cash only which adds a little friction but I get it since their pastries are super affordable. This place has the best egg tarts in all of Chinatown, I’ve actually done a taste test and theirs have the flakiest crust and the custard is so smooth and perfectly balanced between sweetness and richness.

My absolute favorite place to go to for buns and pastries in Philadelphia. When I first moved to Philly, we stumbled upon this place and it has become a staple for my friends and me. We bring everyone that visits here and everyone has loved it. The owners and workers are so friendly. They remembered me 2nd years later after I moved and were very welcoming and helpful. Very affordable pastries and buns that are so fresh and delicious. For $20 you can literally eat like a king. Like a lot of places, it is cash only, but it is what it is. They also have some of the freshest tasting bubble tea 🧋 Highly recommended you try this place out.

I'm happy to read from other reviews that they accept venmo, even though I happily paid in cash. They do not take credit/debit cards. Their baked buns are delicious and generously portioned with very reasonable prices. I enjoyed the bubble tea as well. I will certainly be returning many times!
