I went with my sister around 3pm and ordered the birria tacos, quesadilla con carne, and 2 orders of horchata. The service was great and they checked in on us very often. It’s a small place and would go back to try their espresso drinks and breakfast options! The total came out to be about $47 for everything we ordered and we were full.
We had a wonderful time going with my husband for his birthday with his aunt and uncle. The food was delicious. The mole was very good; enough to inspire me to make my own yesterday. I had a tamarind agua fresca. I can't recommend it enough. The waitress never said one word to us and seemed very stand-offish but the presumed manager made up for it with his bubbly and accommodating attitude. The prices were on the high side of reasonable but was well worth it. A cute little spot near go the drag show we went to afterwards.
The refried bean portion was very tiny, like a table spoon smeared on the plate. They were delicious and I wanted more. There was a half cup if rice on the plate but the enchilada was a large portion.
Seriously, it was one of the best meals I ever had. My family and I were all in awe. The hot chocolate was amazing. A little small inside, but they can't really help that. I have been seriously considering traveling there just for this food! I live in NY
Really enjoyed this place, and I will be back. I had breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning. No problem finding street parking and no wait to be seated. I started with a regular coffee. For my second cup, I got the coffee with chocolate. It was delightful. For my meal, I had a dish from the specials menu with eggs, pastor meat, and a salsa Verde. It was very tasty, but it could have been a little warmer temperature-wise. I had overall a very positive experience and will definitely be back again when I can.

My partner and I discovered this place a few months ago, and honestly it’s a hidden gem. Every single thing on their menu is truly amazing. My favorites are the nachos, the burrito, the fajitas, and their hot chocolate. My partner is vegetarian and he loves the soy protein options, and their specials add a great variety to their everyday menu. Also breakfast is served all day! It’s a BOYB if you drink. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Cafe y Chocolate is one of the best Mexican food spots I’ve had in Philadelphia. The salsa was flavorful and the chips were seemingly homemade and so delicious! I had the enchiladas verdes with brisket on top, it was so tasty and the brisket was perfectly cooked. Our severs were very friendly and attentive as well.
Great tasting good, friendly staff, nice cozy ambience, good price.
For takes a minute but totally worth the wait.
Drinks are made wonderfully well.
Staff is very nice.
Wanted to check out this hidden gem in South Philly. Authentic Mexican food with friendly staff. Service was a little slow but the food was delicious. They had specials available. I got the "cheese steak". It was delicious but I wouldn't consider it a top Philly cheese steak contender. It's more like a panini. They also have outdoor seating.
Cozy vibes, as well as good service and their appetizers, especially the empanadas they were so good.
Had their cafe con chocolate and it was really good.
Nice hole in the wall place that’s been recommended to me a lot. It exceeded expectations.
The staff was very inviting and the food was delicious. Started with the cafe con chocolate and churros. Amazing huevos revueltos con chorizo. Perfect brunch spot in Philly.
