Excellent sushi and sashimi!! It was only one waiter so you seemed really busy. It didn't bother us as we were just having a chill relaxed time out.

Ever since my husband and I stumbled upon this little gem last year, I can't bring myself to go anywhere else for sushi/asian fusion. Not only are the sushi rolls inventive and delicious but the beef short ribs are OUT OF THIS WORLD! (who knew) My entire family requests this place whenever they're in town and the food is always consistently amazing!!!

The space is kind of small but I always go during the week so idk if it gets crowded. We went a couple of times and the waiter was always on top of it and extremely courteous. The food is great (not a traditional sushi but still amazing, try the shrimp tempura with wasabi aioli!)

Can't say if it's the absolute best sushi in the city, but it is my favorite place to get sushi, and I've had a lot of sushi in Philadelphia. The restaurant is small, but doesn't feel crowded, the service is always superb, and most importantly, the fish is remarkably delicious. After many, many meals here, and seven years living in Philadelphia, there's nowhere I'd rather go for sushi.

Four of us were going to a restaurant, but it was abandoned. Luckily, we found Izumi nearby. We walked in and were immediately seated. The menu is small, and it is easy to understand. Our server was very nice and asked us if we wanted to hold on to the menus after we ordered. We ordered the suonomo, avocado rolls, gyoza, soft shell crab, and seared scallops. They were all amazing. The seared scallops were some of the best I ever had. All the fish was delicious, and the avocado rolls were awesome and only $4. The other items were around $10 each. After these, we asked for the menu back and ordered more awesome food. After all this, our nice server asked about dessert. We were split, but when we saw the menu, we went for it. The bread pudding was great, and topped with a silky scoop of gelato. The most filling dessert, it felt like the best deal. All the desserts are $7.50. Donuts and creme brulee were also deemed delicious. Our total was over $100, but reasonable for the quality and service. The server was very polite, cared about presentation, and was understanding. Our group of four enjoyed everything and left satisfying. This would be a good date location. Definitely reccomend

My favorite sushi place in Philly! A little pricey, but my girlfriend and I have never had a bad meal. We come every couple weeks and normally just get edamame and 3 rolls

I was visiting friends in philly and we were hungry for sushi. We googled places around us and Izumi was close by. The menu looked great. We were a little skeptical due to the bad review but since there was only one we decided to head over. We definitely did not regret coming here. We had the kani salad, edamame, miso soup, and pork dumplings as appetizers. I highly recommend the pork dumplings. The dumplings are fresh! The pickles they served with them were genius. I couldn't stop eating them. I had the Paradiso roll which was phenomenal. The lobster was fresh. The batter the lobster was deep fried in was delicious. We did not know it was B.Y.O.B. but that wasn't a problem. We went a few doors down to The Bottle Shop and grabbed some Japanese beer. I highly recommend Izumi. The person who gave this place a bad review was either drunk or a diva. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had about our choices. We will definitely be back!

Overall this is a good sushi spot. The food and service are both good. The prices are slightly high, and the space is a lite small, but the environment is enjoyable.

It was great. Food was good. Staff members were accommodating. Unfortunately, they're closed now after 10 years of business. That's sad because I thought I had discovered a gem.

Unpretentious but chic BYO shushi spot in the heart of Passayunk. Only draw back is the limited seats for bigger parties. Make sure you hit this place in the summer when they have out door seating.
