My wife, our friends, and I visited this is restaurant during Halloween weekend. 👻🎃🍂 We were met with great service and great seating. The food options are German inspired and reminded me of the brief time I spent in Frankfurt Germany. I would recommend that one should try the Bratwurst sandwich, which is what I got. It had a good balance of the sauerkraut and the Bratwurst, so tasty! Can't forget to shout out their beer and drink selections. Of course everyone else enjoyed their dishes too. But I am biased. And lastly, we were celebrating our friend's birthday and the dessert was phenomenal, lemon cream. We dug right in and almost forgot to get a quick pic of it before it disappeared. 😆
All in all we really enjoyed our time there and it capped off a great night. 🌛

We came to Bar Hygge on a whim for the first time last weekend and were very impressed by the experience! I didn't realize that they brewed their own beer, which were all quite tasty. I would give the food a 4 out of 5, which is not bad at all. I ordered an assorted board -- the proscuitto and cheese were very good, but the ricotta toast was under-seasoned and a bit too bread-y. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich, which he said was "pretty good". The service from our bartender was top notch... our empty glasses were never left empty for long. We can't wait to come back!

The service was outstanding and super attentive, host and waitstaff. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was perfectly seasoned. Two sizeable pieces of chicken, with a choice of salad or fries. I was a little disappointed by the salad, as it was only greens and dressing - nothing else. Also the cheese board was disappointing for the price, but it tasted good.
Parking was really difficult to find this particular Friday evening, likely due to a lot of people being out for the Phillies game.

Such a cute, comfy bar. Great to meet up with the girlies for drinks or a date spot. Their bar area is intimate and their cocktail/drinks menu is great. I've gotten the lunch before and this time opted for the rose. Cant go wrong with any of their drink choices 5/5
Their food options are great for sharing so it's great for groups. We had gone between the meat vs the cheese option for the board and opted for a mix of the two. Our waiter was patient and knowledgeable to help us make the final decision. We previously ordered the fried brussel sprouts for our last visit. I think overall my impression of the food has been 3.5/5 stars.
The staff was 5/5 SO sweet! Would recommend. For dessert we were deciding between a few options when our waiter came out with a surprise dessert with a candle for my friend's birthday.

My favorite neighborhood spot since I moved here two years ago.
Excellent food and drinks, excellent staff, and cool atmosphere. I enjoy coming alone and I also enjoy bringing friends and family who come to visit, and I have also come here on a few dates. The setting is great for all of those things. It’s great for a little snack, and it’s great for a full meal. I love the hours… when I want to come for a mid afternoon snack and cocktail on a Sunday, or a late night bite after going to an event, it is still open and I have never had a hard time getting a table without a reservation. The prices are also excellent for the quality.
I love that they rotate menu items so you never run out of new things to try, but it is always a little sad when some favorites are taken off the menu. (Please bring the Dance Yourself Clean cocktail back! 😉)
This is truly a neighborhood gem in Fairmount, and I will continue to come here on a regular basis as long as I live in Philadelphia.

Bar Hygge was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I came with a large group and they were able to accommodate us in a wonderful room where we got to taste the fantastic beers. The staff was able so professional and helpful. The menu was great for vegan and vegetarians and there were plenty of options for beer drinkers, wine drinkers and non-drinkers. I would recommend this place for anyone. Thank you so much!

Beautiful day, enjoyed outdoor dining with cheeseboard and French fries(awesome by the way) rose sparkling wine and beer. Close to Thirsty Dice. Which we spent a couple hours,walked to Bar Hygge seated promptly and server knew food and drink menu. Loved it and spending some time outdoors.

Best spot in Fairmount, hands down. Amazing food, handcrafted everything (even the cocktail mixers), fresh beer brewed on site. They truly encapsulate the "hygge" atmosphere as much as possible. Do not miss going here

First time at this spot and will definitely be back! Unique and super tasty menu; the boards concept is a great way to try multiple items and still have room for a main. Lemon meringue IPA was excellent 👌 but the biggest star was the burger 🍔 which we got medium rare and it was perfection.

This place has such a great atmosphere. Was driving around looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon here. The hostess was so friendly and was very accommodating to us. Our waiter was also very friendly and helpful when we were deciding on which beer we wanted. We started off with the fried buttermilk chicken bites which were amazing. Then had the grass fed beef burger with egg and bacon. The burger was cooked perfect and tasted amazing as well. Overall fantastic experience. Can't wait to go again.

Father's day surprise with dinner in the city, for our party of 5. Great conversation on the way down. No problem parking. The food was very good. We started off with a construct your own cheese board. We picked 5 items. Deep fried Mac and cheese was delicious, as well as the smoked sausage. The country fried chicken was a hit at our table. I had Cubano very good, great flavors. Drinks , I had a sangria and lemon IPA . Dessert was also strong, lemon meringue and a tasty Kake dessert. I'll definitely be going back.

The food was fantastic and the layout of the restaurant is perfect for a casual cocktail and apps kinda get together. They offer tables you can sit at and there are some places at the bar too. The burger I had was one of the best I’ve had in a long time and the rest of my tables food was also great. They were busy and service was a tiny bit slow, but really it’s not a deal breaker. As a bonus they have outdoor seating in what kinda looks like mini sheds and it’s a really cool way of doing it. The prices are also ok with some cocktails being more expensive than others, but nothing out of the ordinary here. Overall a great place to visit with friends.

I ate here this winter, and it was great (inside is a little loud, but that's to be expected on a Friday night).
Then I ate here again last weekend during social distancing. This is the first restaurant I've eaten at during this time, and finally decided to try it because their tables are easily 6 feet away from each other. The food was great, and our experience was good. We called and made a reservation beforehand (they're only doing reservations) and had a 2 hour window to get there and eat. It was relaxing, our waiter was very good too.
My only comment is that people kept walking through the table areas because it's on a major sidewalk - so we had people standing right next to our table chatting for a bit. Not the restaurants fault at all, but I hope people can be more mindful in the future.

What a great time! The atmosphere is seasonal, light and fun. The beer list is incredible, excellent selection. The food is innovative and exploratory. I loved every minute of this experience. I had such a good after work happy hour. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. Everything came quickly and it was all delicious. I certainly will be back!

Pronounced hyoo·guh, this is a brew pub turned up a notch. As you walk up, they have lots of outdoor seating and even tables with little shelters built around them. We went on a Friday evening and it was busy but we were still able to be seated immediately. Their beer selection is great and their food menu is quite interesting. They have a few entrees (I went with the fish and chips, tons of food), but the main attraction are there "boards". Basically you get to pick a collection of small plate offerings. My wife ordered the mac n cheese bites, bratwurst and salmon ceviche. They were all delicious and their fries are outstanding.
