It was our first visit to Russet and it was fantastic! It has a lot of character, the staff is friendly and engaging.
I enjoyed the porkchop, which was cooked perfectly, paired with tasty mushrooms and potatoes. The dessert was artistic and delicious. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys farm to table cuisine.

Located in a residential building, this charming restaurant delivers a seemingly haphazard selection of foods in eclectic formulations. I particularly enjoyed the chicken skewers which were coated in a crunchy spiced crust.

Fantastic! Fresh ingredients and great combinations of flavors. Pasta dishes were amazing and vibrant. Main dishes were excellent as well (my branzino and mussels dish was crazy good!). It's a smaller place which was very nice for conversation. Our waiter Tony was so kind and sweet. We stayed for about 3 hours and had a fantastic time.

Just moved to the neighborhood a week ago, and passed this restaurant on my travels quite frequently. Booked a table for my wife and I and two of our close friends. Overall, very happy with the experience: the menu had quite a number of first courses and entrees that appealed to us; the pasta course we both ordered was delicious; we had the lamb and poke entrees which were cooked to perfection; and, their in-house made maple ice cream was quite yummy! Atmosphere was great and the pricing quite reasonable considering the quality of the food. Will certainly be back!

Russet was on our short list of BYOs to try and perfectly fit into a randomly-free Tuesday night. The location is fun being located in Center City on the first floor of a brownstone and has a clean, calm design. The service was good and personable. The menu was nicely varied and offered seasonally-focused dishes. While we enjoyed the experience, it was shy of ideal mainly due to both of our entrees tasting too salty and the accompaniments not being a strong fit for the protein of those dishes (my scallop dish more so than my wife's beef dish).

It was our first time here. Great experience.
FOOD: Delicious, interesting and creative, well portioned and plated. Don't skip on desserts, you will be sorry. Highlights: Radicchio salad (hope the spelling is right), Melon Soup and Apricot Tart but all the rest of the dishes were great too.
SERVICE: Attentive, friendly and professional.
AMBIANCE: Lovely, shabby chic/rustic, cozy. They play great pieces of music with just right level of loudness.
VALUE: Very good for outstanding experience.
Most important they are open for brunch at 10am which is a rare case with other restaurants. We are definitely going to be back every time we are in Philly.

Been here twice. Loved both. Cozy BYO venue. No fixed menu. The chefs create their food according to seasonal availability of local ingredients. The daily menu is short but there's plenty of options, with several appetizers, entrees (meat and vegetarian options) and desserts changing daily. They also have charcuterie made in-house, which is outstanding. I also had the chance to host a private event here, and their willingness to adapt to your requests, and commitment to high levek of service made it the perfect venue for our event. The private room in the back is really nice and has a private terrace where you could host a cocktail or toast if weather allows it. Totally recommended!

Man, this is a cool restaurant. It's small and tucked away BYOB in what looks like a regular apartment building. The atmosphere is eclectic but fun and the food, oh man the food. I came here for restaurant week and loved each course. It is more on the pricey side of things but its status as a gourmet restaurant is firmly established.

This place is wonderful. It is a tiny space in an old brownstone with a small menu that changes everyday. The staff was very sensitive to my food allergies and the food was fantastic. Don't forget to bring your own wine!

Favorite BYO in Philly! Fantastic, creative food. Constantly changing menu based on fresh ingredients chef finds personally. Hosted the rehearsal dinner for my wedding and an extended party afterward. Of every vendor we worked with for the wedding, they were the most helpful, responsive and generous. Please support these wonderful people and have a great time!!!

Lovely ambiance. This place does everything right on presentation and cuisine. Highly recommend. Make sure to reserve a table before showing up. Small place, but very well spaced tables. Excellent value with all entrees under $30.

Food is delicious. Cosy welcoming feeling. Lovely place to entertain. I had a long wait to join up with friends. I stopped in for brunch. Had the best chipped beef I've ever had plus their chef, Matt Broeze, had made a special hot sauce. Yummy. Was a great place to hang for a Sunday morning.

May well be my favorite byob in a city teeming with them. Small, quiet dining room, very charming. They normally have 5 entree options, with a few appetizers and deserts to round out a nice 3 course meal. One of the entrees is vegetarian. I hear their brunch is good too, but i've never tried...

Been here a few times, and the courses of the menu have hard to predict stand out dishes, which I like. First course pancetta and semifreddo dessert were standout, lamb main was...meh. Almost five stars. Maybe I'll change the rating after subsequent visits.

What can I say about Russet besides they are FABULOUS. We had a small wedding dinner (15 people) there just last Friday. From the beginning everything was splendid. Rory was fantastic at helping organize our event, quick to respond to emails (unheard of in the restaurant event world), and accommodated our every request.
But the real star was the food. My husband and I really wanted to the food to be the shining star of our dinner. Neither of us had eaten at Russet, so we chose to host our dinner here based purely on reviews and recommendations. And let me tell you...the food was outstanding. From the house-made charcuterie and cheese, the yogurt and herb cucumber salad, mortadella cannelloni...the RED SNAPPER, it was by far one of the best dishes I have ever had, and several people at the table agreed. Then dessert- the peaches brought memories back from childhood. It was all so fantastic.
Tony our server was flawless. He made our night easy and fun.
Beyond that, Russet was gracious in accommodating my father-in-law being coeliac without batting an eye.
I cannot thank the entire staff enough for what was an absolutely wonderful night.
